1970 Mercury Cyclone GT

This is a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT. It was built in April 1970 in Ohio and delivered to a dealer in TX. This car was ordered with a 351-C 2V . nbsp; C-4 Automatic. nbsp; Still Original motor and trans w/ approx. 119 k miles. I THINK I am the 3rd owner but have never ran a history report. It was ordered with the bucket seat and floor shift option. The front seats have been upgraded with late model buckets that tilt forward as they should and tilt back for a much more pleasant driving experience. The center console is original. and in Great shape. It was also ordered with the sunroof option. This was a DEALER installed option. so it is a Aftermarket sunroof. I have added the tail spoiler option. This is Original fin and fits and mounts as it should. NOT a Mustang fin adapted to fit. also added is the map light under dash option. Delayed wiper. and 140mph speedometer . The speedo. clock. fuel gauge. and switches are all NOS found on e bay. I also added a Posi to the Completely rebuilt 9" rear end. Old style "slapper style" traction bars help keep the 70s hotrod look . s it should. It has new Heater fan motor. new heater core. and under hood temp. control valve. these have never been hooked up as the car was not driven much and NM never seems cold to me. This is a AC car. and I have ALL the parts in original cond. I am sure it will need some tender loving care and converted to R-34 ? The fuel sending unit is new. the carb. rebuilt and heads were done when I got it. !0yrs or so ago. The front spoiler is a Dearborn Classics reproduction and really sets the car off. Looks "Classic Muscle" My Wife and I put under10k miles on it since then. This was to be OUR daily driver project when bought. I am selling this car because of the loss of Kathy in 2010. I just can't bring myself to work or drive it any longer and when my son isn't driving it. it sits in the garage and I don't want to see it anymore. I have some extra parts I would like to go as well. buyer gets it all. The interior is simply beautiful. the headliner. back seat. package tray. and side panels have all been redone in a white velour like material. very durable. in a stock type pattern. The front seats are gray with covers. nbsp;and looks good as is. The steering wheel is a Sport Ford wheel from a later model and looks better than the stock one in my opinion. I replaced the speedo lens with glass. so . no "haze" and clock and fuel gauge are new. so. nice and clear. The Kenwood am/fm cd has aux. input on front and is running two pioneer front speakers mounted in the stock radio speaker spot. nbsp; No Holes Cut. In the trunk is a battery that powers two amps. one for the two 14' subwoofers behind the rear seat. and one for the two 6x9s (4 way) in the package tray. all pioneers. Even when the subs are off. it sounds terrific. with them on. well hang on. it can rock your world. The Exteriour. Ok here we go. The Tail light pod is now a true 3 pod system with electronic sequencer. blinks in sequence. like a Cougar. had to sacrifice the backup lights. but could put some in the rocker. like the Torino of the era. Trunk lid finished and painted gloss black. spoiler is flat black. trim on trunk restored. ALL the side trim. unique to Cyclone GT. has been restored and looks as good or better than new. The trim is still wrapped and READY to install . waiting for the car to be painted. Just try to find that when your missing a piece. The body is a rust free original with a few small dents to be worked out. including the factory "flaws" common on those years. Very Very good overall. The grill and hide away lights are in great shape. repainted and not broken. one headlight cover has some warping in the ribs. I have two spares that go with the car. The head lights have been upgraded to diamond cut halogens . much better at night than the originals. The hood is finished and Gloss Black. the front hood trim was restored. but got bent in shipping. very minor and as we wanted a daily driver I never bothered to get it redone. looks fine. The side pipes are hand built and fully functioning with a terrific muscle car sound and the neatest spring mounting system I have ever seen. If wanted I also have a stainless bolt together flomaster system with two sets of tail pipes with different tips. trans am style. and echo chamber style. included are the stock exhaust manifolds as it has Doug Thorly headers on it. The sport mirrors are both remote. I MADE the pass. side remote myself with the control mounted under the dash. right next to the switch for the line lock. Yes . it has a line lock on it. The side and rear glass are tinted. The Wheels are 15x10 in the rear. 15x8. 5 in front with 275 60s on back and 235 60s on the front . Polished 5 spoke wheels to keep the car true to the 70s look. Dunlop tires are within dot. and look new. Someone slashed the rr while at a movie so has a mismatch on it. but I will buy a new Dunlop when car sells. new rear poly bushings and many new front end parts. could use a alignment. but drives fine. and no wear on tires. I honestly don't know what else I can tell about the car. nbsp; I will answer all questions as quick as I can . and will send more Pics. to interested bidders. I will need a 500 dollar deposit to my pay pal account at end of auction and payment in full when the car is PICKED UP. I have never shipped a car . and would leave that up to the winning bidder if so desired. I listed this before and never reached my very low reserve. I know what this car is worth and have set my reserve well below that. I spent much more time explaining about the car this time and if it doesn't sell in a reasonable fashion. I will be giving it to my son until my grandson comes of age.
