1995 Montero SR +++++LOW RESERVE+++++

Please meet the Blue Beast. I purchased this vehicle used and am the 4th owner. This truck has no accidents. No rust. Thank you for taking the time to view this listing. If you have looked at the description/seller notes. one may be concerned about the condition of this vehicle. I am trying to be open and honest about all that this truck is and needs. It is a daily driven vehicle and the mileage may vary due to this fact. This truck may not be much to look at and it is no dragster but it has proven itself to be dependable and has saved my bacon a couple of times in bad weather or road conditions. The motor pulls strong even now and the transmission shifts smoothly after the truck warms up. This vehicle needs much TLC. more than I am able to provide and so I am selling it. The truck has always overheated since I have owned it and I am convinced that there must be a gasket within the motor that is installed incorrectly. I have replaced the majority of the cooling system during my time as owner. I have replaced the manual clutch fan with dual electric fans also. The prior owner had the top half of the motor rebuilt and that is when I think that a gasket may have been installed incorrectly. I also installed a high flow water pump when the timing belt was replaced. there is an intermittent coolant leak from the rear of the motor that is caused by the metal coolant pipe that comes out the back of the water pump. under the intake plenum and split off to the rest of the motor. This is a common leak area on these trucks. To try to offset the coolant issue. I installed a small secondary radiator and that seems to keep the truck cool on all but the hottest of days. The front brake pads need to be replaced. The power steering system has a small seal leak but not to the point where it drips. I have to add power steering fluid maybe once a year. A previous owner installed a ceiling mount video screen and an underseat DVD player. I removed the DVD player but the screen is still in place and works. There is an aftermarket JVC cd player installed along with matching front door speakers. A amplified. dual 10 inch infinity subwoofer system is behind the rear jump seats. The window tint is a mess and needs to be replaced. The driver and front passenger seats show visible wear on the leather and power driver seat only reclines. elevates. and lowers. I was lucky that the previous owner was my height! The heater core was removed due to rust and blockage so the truck does not have heat. This does not bother me because I live in Texas and I work less than 10 miles from home. As you can see from the listed issues. this truck is a BEAST. but for the right owner. it will be a blessing. My daughter learned to drive in this truck because of its good ride height and visibility. This truck has some very useful features that enhance its poor weather driving characteristics. The 4 wheel drive works great. I only wish I had more opportunities to use it. I have doe light off-roading with this truck and never encountered any mud too deep or obstacle too steep for this BEAST!Please feel free to ask any questions.
