The car's suspension has been thoroughly massaged. It rides about a half inch lower and features new shocks developed by Yamaha exclusively for the Nismo 350Z. These dampers attach to right and left frame members and serve to damp torsional vibration and flex, roviding better driver feedback.
Overall ride quality is still on the firm side, ut it's not harsh or uncomfortable. Structural rigidity has also been improved via more reinforcements to key parts of the body.
The Nismo 350Z had no problem negotiating the tight bumpy corners of TPG's road course. Turn-in was crisp, hile the suspension did a commendable job of keeping body roll minimal and the handling balance just this side of neutral. The Nismo-tuned sports car understeers slightly through tight corners, ut its overall behavior is predictable and controllable. Around the skidpad, his 350Z posted 0.90g, nd danced through the slalom at 70.7 mph. Both figures are improvements over the stock 350Z (0.89g and 67.3 mph, espectively).
Unfortunately, issan didn't touch the 3.5-liter V-6. The Nismo 350Z is a driver's car, ure and simple. It's a car that boasts the handling character of European sports cars — more so than the stock 350Z — at a much lower price.
