We were informed that the beautiful and professional ground-up restoration was started in 2005 and completed in 2006.We have most of the invoices which account for the work done on this car over the past 5 years which totals $7510.00. We do not have the invoices for all the work that was done during the earlier ground-up restoration. This gentleman we purchased this car fromsaid he was the 3rd owner ofthis 4-4-2.We do not have the names of the prior owners. Later in the auction copy I will elaborate on the work he had done over the past 5 years...he said he purchased this car in 2011 withjust over 12,000miles showing on the odometer and his 1st service invoice indicates an odometer reading of 12,614 miles on December 20th, 011.When restored, he car was stripped to bare metal and magnificently repainted in its original factory color, rimson Red. It was doneusing DuPont paint, ase coat/Clear coat (several coats of clear)This technology did not exist back in 1969 and this isjust one of the reasons why this 4-4-2 is so beautiful. It's not PERFECT....but no car almost 50 years old is perfect. The door jams and underside of the trunk are nicely finished. We installed a new under the hood insulation pad and the engine bay is nicely detailed. All the chrome trim was replaced, front and rear bumpers were rechromed, ew door handles installedand in 2014 two new Left and Right outside chrome mirrors were installed. The rubber seals and weather stripping were replaced during the restoration and a new White Convertible top was installed. All the glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and a new front windshield was installed by previous owner on October 31st, 014. (paid for by his insurance company)The 3 speed automatic Turbo-Hydramatic was rebuilt as was the engine. The block was replaced during the rebuilding process. As most of you know, f a car's engine emits white smoke out of either tailpipe, t probably has a blown head gasket...or possibly even worse. ....NO SUCH PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR!

Less than 500 miles ago, he engine oil & oilfilter was changed on 1-09-2015 with 13,513 miles recorded on the odometer. The chassis was also lubricated and all the fluids checked.(invoice included)

One thing you NEVER want to see when checking a car's oil, s a milky white appearance...if so...you have water in the oil and that can be a serious problem. If a car sits for a couple of days and you see blue smokewhen you start the engine...it could be bad rings, ad valve seals...or possibly even worse.

The oil is very clean on this 4-4-2and we suggest you change the oil and oil filter every 2500 miles on any vintage car and the air cleaner element every 3000-5000 miles.

If you see black smoke...it most often indicates the fuel mixture is too rich.

In summary...this car is a NON-SMOKER!

The compression is strong on all cylinders. The engine runs strong and does not skip a beat.

We would suggest you only use premium fuel.If you plan on not using the car for 3-4 months or more it is a could idea to add a fuel system protective additive like Stabil

We checked for any fuel leaksand could not find any. We drove the car to warm everything up to operating temperature and then parked the car inside the garage withlarge flat cardboard boxesunderneath the car.

After two days we checked for any oil, as, ater, ransmission, il pan and rear end leaks and none were detected.

This is unusual as most cars that are 20/30/40/50 years old or older do have some type of slight leakage after running them...not to say that this car won't develop "the drips" in the future but at this time you could park it in your living room.

In 1969 these cars had what most referred to as "idiot" lights. A red light would come on when the car had low oil pressure, as running too hot or the charging system stopped working.Three electronic gauges were installed which are a welcomed addition to any car built in this era....They give an accurate readout of Oil Pressure, ngine Temperature and rate of volt charging from the alternator. All gauges, ncluding the gas gaugework perfect and the car has excellent oil pressure (40-60lbs), uns at no more than 190 degrees (even in traffic with the AC on) and charges at 13-14 volts. All the electrical systems were gone through to insure everything was in working order. Head lights, right lights, tail lights, ack-up lights, arking lights, urn signals, ash lights, ourtesy lights and glove box light all work. The light in the center console does not work. The interior looks like it was replaced when the restoration was done but John, he prior owner informed us that he wastold when he bought this car that itis the original interior. If that is the case, t shows the loving care that this car has been given from its inception. The invoices which will accompany the sale of this 4-4-2 are from the previous owner and reflect some of the work he had done on the car since 2011....here is a brief summary of some but not all of the work.Invoice dated 12-20-2011 (odometer showing 12,614)New wiper motor, ew front & rear shocks, ew center link, new sway bar kit, ew steering wheel(supplied by customer), ewire horn, new fuel line(tank)and other work.Invoice total $1960.24.Invoice dated 10/06/2014-11/20/2014 (odometer showing 13,284-13,290)Complete brake service,New front brake calipers, oses, etc. & new rear wheel cylinders, ear drums resurface, ew lug studs, replace rear axle shaft, replace rear axle bearings & seal, nspect AC,evacuate & recharge, eplace anti-freeze, il pressure gauge & tubing.Total this invoice was $1757.22Invoices dated 10-20-2014-10-31-2014New vertical weather strips with steel cores, H & RH Chrome mirrors, molded bucket seat chrome mylar kit with 12 stainless end caps, ackup light lenses and gaskets, runk mat kit, ew Brake pedal pad and new Accelerator pedal, ew Cutlass convertible quarter vertical chrome & rubber channel insert,New door lock knobs and door lock ferrules.New cutlass convertible press molded carpet,80/20 original loop blend with heel pad grommet & all jute backing, new door sills with Body By Fisher riveted tags, ew tail light bezels, ew upper and lower L/H & R/H door hinges. There are other invoices but these were the ones he could find. When we purchased this car it had a White convertible top with a small 1 1/2 inch tear. We could have had the top repair but opted to have a brand new correct top in the correct color (Black) with a new glass window and all new lining and convertible top interior pads. We also ordered the correct original style boot in black as the car did not come with a boot as well as a new boot metal attachment track.I had the pleasure of driving this car on the Florida Turnpike at 70MPH toPrice's Custom Auto Trim Shop on Federal Highwayin Delray Beach,Florida. Dean Hillman and his Mom, ife, ons and dedicated help& his family have been at the same locationfor 43 years and their work is the very best interior and convertible top work for vintage cars in all of Florida.I have had 100's of convertible tops and interiors redone over the past 55 years that vintage cars have been my passion and hobby. The work that Dean and his family do is in a class all by itself. Look at how great the convertible top and boot fit on this 4-4-2! Dean's work is on par with the factory fitback in 69 when they built these convertibles. At 70mph the car tracks arrow-straight and on a smooth highway....you can take your hands off the wheel and the car tracks perfect.I love the way the car steers with the more modern smaller steering wheel. However, he original 1969 4-4-2 steering wheel was saved (see photo) and is included with the car and will be in a box in the trunk. The rear spoiler was already on the car when we purchased it and thought it gave the car a great look so we opted to leave it. Rear spoilers were being installed by Oldsmobile dealers in the late 1960's as a way to dress up these cars as well as a way to add to the selling dealers bottom line. It has a short tiny hairline crack in the paint too tiny to show up in the photos. If we didn't mention this, ou wouldn't notice it.The brakes work better than any car I have driven from 1969....you can take your hands off the wheel-traffic permitting....apply the brakes hard and the car quickly stops without and pulling to the left or right side. This car starts up the 1st time....every time. It was 90+ when I drove the car to & from the Trim shopand the AC system works fabulous and blows ICE COLD.The 3/speed Turbo-Hydramatic shifts flawlessly and so smoothly that is hard to feel when the car has shifted into the next gear. The 12 bolt rear is most likely a 3:23 ratio as the car performs really well. The car ran at 180-190 degrees in traffic with the AC onand idles very, ery smooth. (It was 95 outside but nice & cool inside) The AC was tested with the carindoors and blew 59 degree cold air out the AC vents)The sound from the trumpet dual exhausts is exactly what you would expect from a muscle car from the late 1960's...not so loud that it is annoying but still has that great deep melodic sound with a slight resonaterumble that is absent from most cars built in the 1970's and later.I would not hesitate to jump in this 1969 Olds Cutlass 4-4-2 Convertible and drive it coast to coast in complete confidence. I took the Route 66 sign off of my 66 Corvette. I drove from St. Louis the entire length of Route 66 and if your not in a hurry, t is a great trip to take. The Route 66 sign does not come with the car but the 1969 4-4-2 plate does.It has its original seat belts as evidenced by the date tags on the belts. (see photos) Two sets in the front seat & 3 seats in the back seat.We thought of removing the modern stereo system and replacing it with a 1969 Olds Original AM radio which we found on Ebay for $60. However, nce we heard how great the Kenwood system sounded, e opted to leave. It has AM/FM/FM Stereo/CD Player and is rated at 140W. Hidden away under the dash is a booster AMP which we believe is rated at 200W.With this much power we decided to upgrade the inexpensive Jensen speakers and replace them with top quality, great sounding Bose stereo speakers that are more capable of handling all this wattage. We were able to locate a brand new period correct original antenna which was also professionally installed. Also installed was a new correct glove box liner and yes, he glove box light does work when the glove box is opened. The custom made Carpeted embroidered floor mats look fantastic.Any car lover, uy or gal, ould be proud to own this great looking and running Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-4-2 convertible. I drove it with very light pressure on the pedal as it doesn't take much of a nudge on the gas pedal to light up the tires. The floor pans, runk pan and undercarriage frame are rock solid in this car. The undercarriage shows undercoating that was done when the car was 1st delivered. If you want an undercarriage that looks perfect, ou will have to buy a car that has had a recent body-off-the-frame restoration. You can own this gorgeous 4-4-2 for a fraction of the price you would have to pay for a car so perfect that you would always be afraid to drive it.This is a car that should be driven and enjoyed and I am certain that whoever ends up with this car will love it....I drove it again today for the short u-tube videos and still marvel how great this car drives and handles for a 46 year old classic convertible.

Shipping: If you need help shipping this car in the U.S. or anywhere else in this world, will be happy to put you in direct contact with Mary Olson who has been our sole shipping person for not only us, ut for several of my friends who own car museums. She is honest, eliable, ependable and gives great personal service. She has arranged shipping for myself and several of my friends of more than 3000 cars over the past 10 years.

Twenty First Century Auctions has been selling fine Late model sports cars, intage and collectible cars on EBAYMOTORS since March of 2000 and we have a 100% feedback rating.

Even in this very tough economic times where real estate has tumbled down a very steep hill....vintage cars...the real ones...the pedigreed cars in great restored or near perfect original condition continue to hold value and in most instances appreciate.

Why not have fun with your money? ...enjoy your life and know that when you wake up in the morning your dollars are still safe in your garage or warehouse and haven't evaporated into thin air

I was privileged to be close friends with the late Jerry J. Moore fromHouston,Texas. Jerry was a Real Estate Mogul and one of the largest owners of shopping centers in the world.

Jerry was also an avid car collector and amassed one of the largest and best vintage car collections on the Planet.

If Jerry told me once....he probably told me over 100 times......"In case you forgot...remember..."You will never see a Brinks truck at a funeral service or a Hearse with a luggage rack at a cemetery!"

Car collecting is a family thing...everyone around the world admires and loves these great vintage and collectible cars.

We have sold cars fromAustraliatoAlaska...FromChinatoSaudi Arabia.....FromManhattantoMoscow....and the hobby keeps growing & expanding all the time.

Collector car insurance is dirt cheap...about $250-$300 a year for a quality collectible like this. and you can also buy full coverage!

They usually require a garage and not more than 2500 miles a year put on the car.

I recommend you only buy a car like this if you have a garage to keep it in.

I always try and look for major flaws and mention them and try to point them out when I see something.

Your welcome to come in person to inspect this car for yourself...hire anyone you like to come on your behalf....bring your Experts and magnifying glasses........see if you can find anything that is a major negative worth mentioning...we tried and couldn't find anything other than what we stated in the description...maybe you can?

We have tried diligently to find any MAJOR flaws in the paint, ody, nterior, echanical or electrical systems and have not been able to locate anything that we could list as a MAJOR problem in the description or that we haven't already mentioned. There are some tiny light scratches on the spoiler that are too small to show up in the photos.

I truly believe there is NO such thing as a "PERFECT" old car or even a late model car that has been driven, E ARE NOT making such a claim.....This car is 46 years old and looks betterthan a lot of the cars on the road that are only 2 or 3 years old.

We are urging you toPLEASEcome and inspect the car in person, rive it or to hire an expert inspector to do this for you. AGAIN....Please do not ask us to recommend anyone....we want you to select & hire your own inspector.

If you wish to schedule an appointment to see this car, lease call me at954-873-6495....We would appreciate at least a one-two day notice. We know this is agreat investment collectable car..this is a car that you can still drive & enjoy and will increase in value...not decrease in value.....and if you chose to...you could drive it every day. We feel very strongly that a car like this will not only hold its value but in years to come will continue to appreciate.

Please don't buy agorgeous car like this unless you have a garage to store it inside. We do not think this car has ever been left outside since it was restored. John, he prior owner for 5 years said it was always garage kept.

You can look at this car in bright outdoor sunlight or indoors under halogen or florescent light...it still looks spectacular....but don't take our word...PLEASE...come and check it out yourself. When first glancing at the 1969 Olds 442 models, he new grille seems to indicate a drastically different car than the one that came before it. But in reality, ther than that new grille, he car was very much the same as the 1968 442, hich had been the first year the car was ever issued as its own distinct model. But the new grille represented a car looking toward the future as far as styling was concerned, nd its design would inform the design of Oldsmobile grilles for much of the next three decades.

Behind that grille, hings were just about the same as they had been the previous year. The standard engine was a 400 CID V8 that produced 350 horsepower.

This power was cut down to 325 with the inclusion of the optional three-speed Turbo Hydra Matic automatic transmission.

Adding the W-30 package added cold air induction that Oldsmobile called the “largest factory air scoops in the business.” At over 26 square inches, his claim is likely true.

The “Turnpike Cruiser” had been introduced in 1967 with a detuned engine that could run on regular gas and save highway commuters fuel money. Though it was discontinued for the 1969 year, he W-32 package did essentially the same thing and used Force Air induction on a detuned engine.

Introduced the previous year in very limited quantities, he Hurst/Olds model was back for 1969. This model had been originally designed for George Hurst, amesake of the famous transmissions. The car featured a 455 CID V8 engine, orce Air Induction and 380 horsepower. This rating was 10 less than it had been the year before. The car was only available in a Regal Gold and White color scheme.

1969 Oldsmobile 442As it had been the year before, he 442 was available in three models: the sport coupe, he hardtop coupe and the convertible. However, ther than body style, here was really little to distinguish the models, s they came with essentially the exact same standard features and options list.

Total production for the year was 29,601, hich was almost exactly 4,000 less than the previous year. The hardtop coupe was the bestselling model, ith 24,193 built, hile there were 2,475 sport coupes and2,933convertibles built for the year.

CompetitionIn 1968 and 1969, he muscle car era was at its absolute peak, nd the Oldsmobile 442 was one of the best examples, articularly when considering the cars great handling and good ride in conjunction with its considerable speed. While other muscle car models of the day far outsold the 442, t was always praised as one of the best muscle car examples.

But the hard times were just around the corner for the muscle car class, nd these would be caused by insurance surcharges for muscle car drivers, nd performance would soon begin to suffer as strict emissions standards would put into place by the government. When this was added with the first oil crisis that would come in 1973, t would pretty much mean the end of most muscle cars.

Fortunately, he 442 would soldier on long after most of those short-lived models. That balance of power and ride it provided would secure its relatively long future.
