Up for your consideration is this really nice. very restorable 1951 Henry J Deluxe. It is very complete and in good condition. All the body panels and the glass are good except the passenger door window and I have a replacement window for that. The original “SuperSonic” 6 cylinder engine fires right up and runs and idles just fine. The driveline is complete and the 3 speed transmission works and shifts fine in all 3 gears and reverse. The wiring for the overdrive is damaged so I have not tried the overdrive but I have driven the car down the highway and it runs and drives surprisingly well. The interior is in very poor condition. The car was outside for quite awhile and then in a barn for quite a few more years and mice ruined the interior. The wiring on the car was also heavily damaged by mice. The car has factory undercoating and where it pealed off when I pressure washed the car. the sheet metal looks like it did the day it left the factory! It really is in quite unbelievable condition! Some of the work that has been done on the car: Removed. cleaned and reinstalled the fuel tank and replaced the fuel line all the way to the motor. The carburetor was rebuilt. All the wheel cylinders and the master cylinder have been replaced so the brakes work fine. The 6 volt battery is new. The points. plugs rotor and condenser are all new and of course the engine has fresh oil. The rear driveshaft universal joint was replaced. The rocker panels are new and I have new floor pans for all areas. I believe water was allowed to get in the car at some point and the floor pans probably rusted from the inside as. like I said. the undercoating did a fantastic job of protecting the underside and outside of the car. Every part of the body is in fantastic condition except the floor pans and no body sheet metal needs to be replaced or even repaired. just painted. If you have questions. please feel free to call: 503-509-9915. I think this car is a rare jewel in the rough just waiting for someone with more time than I to make her shine and drive like new. The original radiator is still in place but it leaks. The starter works and the original generator and all engine components are there except the air cleaner. You can start it and drive it but it is not highway ready. The wiring needs attention and the seat is not mounted. Included with the car is a Motors Auto Repair Manual from the era and the 1951 Henry J is covered in it. Also included is an original Kaiser Frazer approved Henry J Shop Manual. Most parts are available from Willow Run KF parts. This Henry J has a clear Oregon title and license plates are good until December 2016.
