Description

51 Henry J Deluxe,It's been sitting parked since 1955.It has it's original paint, tires, I believe everything is actually what it had from the factory including the battery!!Has 34*** miles on it. Factory 514 model deluxe with the 6 cyl supersonic engine and a 3spd transmission. The previous owner was going to convert it to 12 volt and get it running again, (25 years ago), so it's missing the alternator and starter. The engine does turn over and has compression so with the starter and alternator I'd think it would fire up.Has a clean title purchased brand new and issued in 1950. It was financed and paid off in 1952 (bank stamp releasing the lein).
It has rust from sitting.See the pictures.I'd say it needs front floors, but they may be able to be patched. The inner rockers are bad, and has some rust on the tops of the rear quarters.Other than the starter and alt the only thing I see missing are the keys, air cleaner, and three of the deluxe hubcaps. The door side windows are also cracked.
It is an early production number car with the open steering column, was told the emergency brake handle is also rare, has all of its original "dragon" interior and I haven't seen one with the seat covers this has but they are dragon vinyl with cloth striped centers that have clear plastic covers over the cloth.
I was informed the first 5000 were all the aqua green color. After that they made the other colors and by 7400 cars produced they had changed the emergency brake and then added a pice to the dash to mount the steering column.
Also with it is a letter from the previous owners child who found the car and the history they obtained from their family about why the car was parked. "In 1955 the seat back broke and it was put in the garage and never driven again."Not only the original issued title with this letter, but also is the last registration from 1955.Then another incredible piece of documentation is the original bill of sale from the dealership with the added options of the wide white wall tires which are still on it and undercoating plus the extra receipt for those. Also two blank order forms from keisler for options you wanted to add to your car when purchasing it.
This is a super neat car, and from what I've found the 514 model is rare! I've also found they got 30-35 mpg from these cars back then.
This would make an awesome restoration project, hot rod, cruiser, race car, drag car, street machine, pro street, rat rod, or Gasser!!!Just swap out the straight 6 and put in a small or big block Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Pontiac, olds, Buick, or Cadillac power plant depending on your preference, add a straight axle, and have fun!!!
Due to it being for sale locally I reserve the right to end the autumn at any time.
Any questions please ask.
I can show the car to anyone interested so they can see it in person.
There is no reserve so bid to own it!
Check my other auctions for cool vintage racing stuff.
Also, I bought the car with the intentions of making a gasser out of it but can't find it in me to cut up such a rare and original car with such cool history and documentation.
