A LITTLE HISTORY… The Vehicle in question is a "Susita" pickup truck from 1960. manufactured by "AutoCars Israel" - an ice factory in the city of Haifa altered for the needs of a car factory. This truck was one of 75 prototype trucks created as the first Israeli pickup truck. A year later "AutoCars Israel" created a different model for a pickup truck. discarding the "old" plans. Today only 2 units of this car have survived. one in NY (While not suitable for driving it's still in one piece). the other owned by me. This Vehicle was the last model created in the old AutoCars Factory. A year later AutoCars moved into their new factory in Tirat Ha'Carmel. This factory started operating in the Year 1958 but created station wagon and commercial cars until 1960 when he created this prototype. ABOUT THE CAR A couple of years ago. the car was renovated top to bottom. The Front. the rear. the door frames and the floor are built out of wood and fiberglass. The Body is sitting on a Frame of Iron Crossbeams which makes the bottom of the car very durable. The engine is a 1000 cc Ford Times 105 (Ford England). The gear box and the Rear Axle were also taken from Ford England. The car is in a preserved vehicle and in a state rarely seen in the "Susita" cars.
