Up for auction is a 1972 Fiberfab Avenger GT15 kit car.Is replicated from the iconic Ford GT40.
This kit car is based on all the running gear of a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair.The engine is a air-cooled 6 cylinder engine with 4 single barrel carburetors, ushing out 140Hp.Engine sounds good but will need a little work to sound even better.Thisvehicle has been sitting since 2007 and will need the normal work needed for a vehicle thathasn't ran in a while.Does runs but willprobably need thecarburetors adjusted and some brake work.Clutch feels good and shifts thru all gears.I have a box filled with paperwork on thisvehicle dating back to the late 80's.Over 20K was invested in thisvehicle in the late 90's early 2000's.I even have the original Fiberfabmanuals all the books for the Corvair running gearect and pictures of the car when it was completed.
Body and paint have sometypicalfiberglass issues, ome cracks and chips here and there (all pictured below)The paint is nice and is a driver quality finish.Has a custom built chassis built by Fiberfab.Interior is nice chairs are reclinable and are leather.Will need a headliner and some small interior work to be finished.Will need a set of pins for the rear engine cover, ront hood and the driver door rubber door seal.
Ok here is thestory of this vehicle.We purchased it from a gentlemen who bought it off of Ebay in 2007.He has never completed the titletransfer into the state of California.I do have the cleanMichigan title and bill of sales from allparties.It is titled as a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair.During the build of thisvehicle they used all the running gear and misc parts from a 1965 Corvair, ut never installed the vin plate from the donor car,this happens fromtime to time on kit cars.So there is no vin number that is on the car because it was never titled as a kit car.A vin number can be issued for the car into another state it just has to be verified with your local DMV office.The process of the title transfer into the state of California and was never completed.If you have anyother questions my phone number will be listed below.
A great GT40 kit car that is a head turner andunusual vehicle when you see it driving down the road.Just needs a little tlc to be a great car.
