1955 Morris Minor Tourer and the last year for the split front windscreen. The car has been in my possession for a number of years. I bought the car as a project from a local well known English car person.
This vehicle was not a rusty car and I have pictures attached showing the inside of car before any interior was installed in it. The two front fenders were NOS replacements back 20 years ago when it was re-painted with single stage original color paint. The 1275cc engine and transmission were rebuilt during that 20 year period when the car was upgraded to use MG Midget running gear. The transmission is original to the car so as to retain the original look with the long shifter which is correct for 1955 model Morris. The rear end now uses the MG Midget gear assembly.
The interior and top work was done by ARS Interiors and we chose to use cloth as was original to the car for the top. Sound deadening was installed before any carpets were in place and the carpet is a little lighter shade of green than original. The seats have been re-done in vinyl but are a very close match to the original with the same look and feel of the original material. The cloth top and interior were installed in the spring of 2015. The wheels are new painted wire wheels with the knock off conversion. Power front disc brakes have been installed and the car stops straight/ true even when you let go of the wheel and stomp on the brakes.
This car while not all original with its running gear makes for a great driving car that can easily maintain 55-65 MPH on most roads and even faster on smooth flat roads. This is a great car for taking an extra person or two (grand kids) with the top down for a ride to get an ice cream and/or tour the back and in town roads with! Car runs and drives excellent and was just put back on the road in June 2015 after 20 years of a slow restoration of the car. Mileage is accurate at time of repaint and will need speedometer calibration and a odometer gear. I have put less than 600 miles on the car since June of 2015.
This vehicle is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime as the vehicle is also for sale locally. Available for pick up locally and I will assist the buyers shipper with vehicle locally.
