Take intoaccount that this car came from the factory as a hidden headlight, ower top, ower steering, ower brake, speed manual, ne can assume only a few have survived. I recognized this piece of history over a year ago, nd spent that time making a vehicle that fit my needs for today's driving.
This was a clean, traight, inimal rust vehicle that I purchased over a year ago. I decided tobegin this resto-mod as a vehicle that could be driven daily, hich had todays brakingcapabilities, igh horsepower, etter handling and dependability. It started with nobudget restrictions, nd a vision to maintain the classic lines and timeless look of the legendaryFord Torino.I started this process by media blasting the body and replaced any damage sheetmetal as needed. Minimal body filler was utilized during the build and the vehicle showsstraight and true. During the build, ost all chrome was either replaced with new or re-chromed as needed. The power top hydraulics were rebuilt, long with a new top, nd glassrear window were installed. The interior carpet and seats were upholstered and shows likenew.
The original motor was a 351 Cleveland, hat motor was replaced with a351 Windsor cratemotor, hat displaces 427 cubic inches. The motor was built by D.S.S. Racing in St. Charles, L,estimated to produce 580 H.P. The motor is a bullet proof, 27 Ford Racing Boss, ig BoreXtreme Block, ith Aluminum Twisted Wedge style heads. The motor is balanced to racingtolerances and blueprinted. Forged GSX series pistons, amp;4 bolt mains. The motor runs onpremium pump fuel with no hesitation or run on. Quick fuel 750cfm carburetor, atched to anEdelbrock, 51W RPM airgap intake manifold were installed. All specs for the motor areavailable. I have driven this car for 400 miles with zero issues. I mated this motor to a Tremec5 speed transmission, nd retained the 3.25 rear end gear ratio. Custom aluminum radiatorkeeps the motor cool, ven on hot days. We then lowered the stance of the Torino by one inch,installed new front and rear sway bars and bushings, YB shocks, all joints, ie rods, teering boxand provided Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners. New headers and full exhaust are inplace. All fuel and brake lines were replaced, teering wheel,electronic ignition,horns and muchmore to list. Classic Americantorque wheels and B.F. Goodrich tires completed the stance of this classic. I changed out vacuum chambers twice for the hidden headlights and finally replaced the system with an electric motor which works flawlessly.
I own numerous cars and exotics. I can honestly state that this car finished in medium bluemetallic, aser stripes and the white interior set this car apart from most others. I spent thispast summer at car shows in my area, his car was always one of the stand outs. The car can bedriven at 70mph @ 1600rpm, nd runs on pump gas.
