Vehicle Overview
Up for sale is a 1972 Chevrolet Nova. It was built on a tv show called Car Warriors that was on the Speed Channel in 2011-2012. It was season 2 episode 11. The show took 2 identical cars and then put 2 custom hot rods shops against each other to build them in 48 hours. I purchased this car a few years ago from Innovative Rods in Reno, evada. They are the team that built this car. I was originally going to pull the drive trainand sell the body but never started on it so it is time to pass this on to someone else.
To start with the hear of this beast is a stroked 418 cubic inch LS3 that the tv show advertised as 600 horsepower. It has big cam and sounds mean as hell. It also has hooker headers, SD 6LS ignition box, onster transmission built Turbo 350 transmission, ig aluminum radiator. The LS3 has a serpentine belt set-up with a polished alternator, olished A/C compressor(no a/c is hooked up in car), ower steering and billet pulled. The motor set up alone with the accessories is at least $15,000 alone. It has a big Baer4 wheel power disc brake kit that sit behind 20 inch American Racing wheels. The 10 bolt rear end had the spider gears welded together to make it a spool.
The interior has really nicely covered seats and door panels. All the minor finishing touches will need to be finished as 48 hours is not enough time to dial in a car. The instrument cluster has nice auto meter gauges but they need to be hooked up. There is also a stereo and speakers installed in the car but could probably stand for a rewire as well.
The car itself is a 1972 Nova that originally came with a 350 cubic inch 2 barrel carb. It is a very solid car that was built in California and probably spent its life there and was purchased there for the tv show build which was based in Los Angeles. It is all original sheet metal and very solid with only some minor pin holes in the truck and some very minor spots in the floor. There are pics of a few small spots of rust in the listing but all in all they are fairly minor and is very hard to find a Nova this solid. The tail lights had metal plates welded on to cover the tail light openings and side marker lights but can be cut off easily. It has LED lights installed on the outside of the body for the lights now. The front of the fenders were cut to fit the custom grill but Nova parts are pretty cheap and readily available. It needs a new windshield as well but looks like it is still the original one with the radio antenna in it.
It is a running driving car and has a lot of $$ invested on a solid car. You would start much further ahead on a project and come out with less money invested then starting with either a stock Nova or a rust bucket Nova. It has a clean and clear Nevada title.
