Although it seemed like spring would never get arrive the season is finally here!

Warmer temperatures are starting to be the norm again in the Mid West and abroad. If you are a muscle car enthusiast like I am there’s no better way to celebrate than by retreating to the garage to wake your American classic from its slumber!

It is my pleasure to present what I believe is one of the best cars to complete that task with!

If you’ve been looking for the right classic car to hit the road with “sit back and enjoy the brief bit of information, ictures & other details provided regarding this particular gorgeous 72 Ford”!

There is a quite a lot that can be said for this vintage Mustang!

However I must admit I am a little bias. Although I have seen my fair share of classic cars throughout my life time I haven’t ran across many that has been cared for the way this one has!

The vehicle that you see pictured here is the product of much pampering & family protection over several decades.

This beautiful family owned Mustang was purchased almost 45 years ago at Sherwood Ford by the original owner. He actually was a teacher (who became principal) at a high school in South County in St. Louis Missouri.

His son in law (whom I acquired the car from) told me how excited he was on the day his father-in-law purchased it (proven by family photos of him smiling & an actual copy of the canceled check that wrote for down payment).

During the following years after he took possession of the car in 1972 he made quite a few trips in it with his wife to New Mexico (where they had a second home).

By all accounts he really enjoyed driving the car! However he was forced to park it for several years (beginning in the fall of 1981).

He stated that his father in law ability to drive the car was greatly diminished due to an illness. He spent several years addressing it & several other personal matters.

The car subsequently sat for an extensive period of time until (approx 1995).

At one point he drained the fluids & removed the wheels.

Things seem to have gotten somewhat better and he began leisurely driving car again in 1995.

He & his wife moved New Mexico a short time thereafter. Before he took residency there he decided to sale the car to his son-in-law.

This was a decision that made both parties happy since he was also familiar with the car.

The second owner (son-in-law) was a small business owner. He took the car to several shows and continued to treat it as a family member.

I actually got acquainted with him several years prior before the thought even entered his mind to sale it.

We ironically were both purchasing parts for our perspective Mustangs at the time. On that particular day we began talking about our cars.

He showed me pictures of it & told me more about the cars lineage.

Just listening to the details about it was exciting! I implored him to contact me if he ever decided to sell it “which he assured me would never happen”!

To make a long story one day I did indeed get a call from him we met up again & “the rest is history”!

One of the first things that you should know is that this vintage Ford has only been painted once (besides its factory covering).

The task to restore it was under taken in the fall of 2014. The paint process wasn’t actually finished until May 2015. It was painted by retired body man from Matt Johnsons Performance Shop in St. Louis Missouri.

The car was completely disassembled & prepped for before a single finger was lifted to conduct any work.

It only takes a moment to realize this!

Whether a thorough inspection is completed or someone is just casually observing it “you’re guaranteed to be impressed”!

There is absolutely no doubt that the base coat/ clear coat method was used to produce the final product “the outcome is truly unbelievable”!

The paint & body of this Mustang is simply above reproach! The Brilliant Blue finish is extremely smooth to the touch & all but blinding in direct sunlight!

The craftsman who was given the assignment to paint the car ordered the material from Glazier/Nolan Mustang.

This company is a premier leader in classic Mustang restorations & they went through great lengths to ensure the color was period correct!

They contacted several members of the M.C.A.

(Mustang Club of America) & authority figures on the subject of classic Mustang color codes to again make sure that the Mustang would stand tall.

They could of rest on their laurels afterwards however, heir quest of perfection was not complete.

They ordered period correct material from K.A.R. Mustang group in hopes of acquiring the exact shade of argent silver that accents the Brilliant Blue exterior!

The iconic NASA hood on this Mustang is simply flawless!

I am confident that even the most critical enthusiast would appreciate this car overall exterior!

Richard Knoff a very well respected car show judge in the Mid West used the term breath taking to describe the contour in a detailed appraisal!

Shortly before this incredible Mustang was reassembled all of the chrome moldings were sent off to Triangle Plating in Mid Town Missouri to be refurbished.

The condition & quality of these parts alone have to be seen in person to truly be appreciated!

The hallmark signature grill & all exterior marker lights were given to Mustang Corral (in Edwardsville Illinois) to be restored to like new condition (although certain pieces were replaced).

When the mission to make this Mustang a vehicle worthy of its heritage was complete the owner ordered a new N.O.S. front chin Spoiler from Kentucky Mustang as well “the final seal of approval of a job well done”!

By the end of the marathon undertaking to restore this Mustangs exterior a price tag of around $14,000 was left to pay!

Most who have seen the car in person believe that price was actually a bargain!

This one really sets itself apart right out of the gate from many restorations were individuals cut corners.

All of the small details were even given attention to (much to many to mention in this listing).

At this point I would like to say that you can’t take this pony out of the garage without causing total HYSTERIA!!!

You will find it difficult to drive this Mustang a single block without receiving much fan fare!

The attention that this vehicle attracts is beyond amazing & can be almost overwhelming if you’re not a people person!

It goes without saying of course that matters only get worse when the top goes down!

Nevertheless “speaking of the canvas top” it was replaced a little more than a year ago.

It was ordered and obtained by contacting CJ Pony parts. Sheer perfection is what you can expect to find …..it is of the highest quality!

This one has the optional rear glass curtain.

No expense was spared on restoring this Mustang!

The Raven black canvas convertible top lowers with ease! Keeping the car protected from moister is a cinch thanks in part to all new weather strip that was replaced at the same time!

Another one of my favorite attributes regarding this Mustang is just how nice all of the glass throughout the entire vehicle.

The front windshield is crystal clear and doesn’t have a single scratch or chip in it!

The door glass moldings are in pristine shape & also free from any damage!

If you desire a pony that gets two thumbs up in almost every single area….look no further!

This nostalgic Ford has had no problem taking home a few trophies over the last couple years!

She plays her part well & is ready for any venue

SHOW OR GO!

Now that we have talked about this incredible Mustangs exterior lets discuss what she has to offer inside!

From the moment that you open up the door of this vintage Ford you will be impressed! Every single stitch of the factory medium blue interior has either been restored or refurbished through the years!

The seat upholstery is simply flawless!

The seat covers are in superior condition and don’t seem to have a single stitch out of place!

The high back buckets along with the rear seats provide a great example of what the Mustang represented in 1972 when it was released!

The (4–B Code) Medium Blue interior throughout is pleasing to the eye!

While installing a dash cap seems to be the norm for many enthusiast who don’t want to take on the chore “replacing it is always best”.

No worries here this Mustangs original dash pad is still in place and it looks as if it has been wrapped in plastic since 1972!

Not many can say that all of their factory gauges are functioning properly “again no problem” the gauges sunken in this dash of this pony jump into action with just a flick of the key!

Another personal favorite of mine is the buckle seat belt indicator that also still illuminates bright red once the car is started!

The factory door panels have stood the test of time! They have been massaged with Mothers upholstery cleaner & also avoided fading or any sort of damage!

The arm rest, oor window felt & handles are in like new condition!

No stone was left unturned when trying to preserve this pony through the years!

The convertible header bow is in stellar shape as well! The loop style carpet is in very clean. It takes you back to a time when interiors were manufactured with character! Protecting the carpet is a set of beautifully crafted Mustang logo embossed pony floor mats!

This Blue Oval looks just as good inside as it does out! It makes on reminisce about times spent on Route 66 each and every time you sit behind the steering wheel “which also happens to be in fantastic shape”!

Last but not least this Mustang has an aftermarket radio that looks the blast the tunes at will!

From front to rear you’re covered! Taking a peek in the trunk you will find a super solid trunk with splatter paint “looks great”!

Not all of the cars that left the factory during the 1972 model year were equipped with A/C.

Just in a few months when the mercury rises the lucky owner of this pony will have the option to have the thrill of getting a chill from inside!

This Mustang came from the factory with air conditioning and “yes it still works”!

Again what you have here is not only a special car but also a wonderful investment grade vehicle ready to be enjoyed!

Now that I have given several reasons why you should love this Ford…… Let’s talk about what makes the Chevy crowd hate it!

No Mustang can truly be considered a free running stallion without having a factory V/8!

The heart and soul of this horse is its mean factory 351 Cleveland engine! Although some have coined these engines as big blocks they are not…. however there is no dispute that they are some of the best motors ever released during that era!

This Mustang has the designated H-Code power plant! Allow me to say that it has an extremely free running strong block!

Sometime around 2014 this Mustang underwent a mid day makeover! In essence the motor was freshened up to help increase horse power & torque ratios that actually would even surpass the ratings from the glory days that it received!

Although this vehicle certainly had no issues barking the tires from the factory the extra added performance goodies that she has now allows her to lay a stretch of rubber at the given command!

One of the first things that you will notice once the hood is lifted is that a top notch aluminum intake is there to greet you!

The performance intake gives this pony a little more heart when she’s out on the prowl!

Complementing the intake & joining in the fight for street respect is a polished four barrel Edelbrock performance carburetor!!!

These two items are perfectly matted to the block and really give this pony the kick that she needs to make any and every trip a thrilling one!

You won’t be hiding the fact that this Mustang is built for performance! A menacing set of chrome Ford valve covers & air cleaner shout muscle car to all who dare to peek!

It would be a lost cause trying to give an idea of just how much preventative maintenance this car has received! There’s a litany of receipts that will accompany the new potential owner.

A short list of what I can mention at this time is all new plugs, ires, elts, oses, attery, tarter, uel pump, askets, ater pump, hermostat, oltage regulator & entirely too much more to list!

There were also several other performance parts installed but nothing that would effect the integrity of the motor. I actually have the factory valve covers, arburetor & intake (goes to the new owner)!

The car turns over with just a twist of the key & engages with ease! The cars performance is very impressive! It accelerates without hesitation & doesn’t have the usual inconsistent idling associated with most classic cars!

There has been a recent oil change & the radiator fluid was also just flushed.

You can drive this Mustang with complete confidence!

LET’S LISTEN TO HER RUMBLE!!!

The shocks have been replaced & several suspension components as well so “driving this Ford once on the freeway you’ll be hooked”!

The brakes are functioning proper and have been recently serviced.

Total nostalgia will be in full force thanks in part to a super nice set of performance mufflers!

The 60’s/70’s muscle car sweet note comes by aid of chambered dual exhaust system!

Again street respect is commanded once the car leaves the garage! Modern Muscle car owners go out of their way to tip their cap to you when you’re behind the wheel! It’s only fitting that the pony cars of yester year get acknowledged creating all the excitement that still exist today!

What would a classic Mustang be without a set of Magnum 500 wheels…..? Whatever the answer may be it won’t be provided here!

This 72 Stang has an absolutely gorgeous set of iconic magnum 500’s at all four corners!

Not one wheel has road rash or curb damage! The rims look terrific on this car & really give it the bull dog aggressive look the car was meant to have from the factory!

Like cake & ice cream go together so does Magnums & BFG white letter performance radials!

The tires on this pony are spank brand new & really put an end to any argument that another tire could match up better!

Don’t miss out on your chance to own a quality investment at a bargain price!

You may find another pony but you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition for the asking price!

The time, ffort & money spent restoring this car can’t be properly measured. That being said I have set a very reasonable reserve on it! The car is being offered at a fraction of what it cost to restore it!

The best part has been saved for last!

The car is also structurally sound & rust free!!

The floors, rame rails and all other components underneath are in excellent shape! This vehicle is rock solid & is structurally sound!

No matter if this is the vehicle for you or not. Don’t ruin your experience by purchasing a rusty car! Rust repair car be time consuming and very expensive. I have taken several photos to give the potential buyer some insight as to the cars condition underneath.

This vehicle will only continue to appreciate! Drive the dream & have an investment that you can enjoy! Car cover included.
