To commemorate the car's silver anniversary last year, olkswagen produced a small batch of 25th Anniversary GTIs and sold them exclusively in Europe. Re-branded for the American market, t was named the GTI 337 Edition.

The 337 nomenclature comes from the early 1970s Golf/GTI codename. Anniversaries and codenames aside, he 337 is a hot hatch. Power comes courtesy VW's 1.8-liter 180-horsepower turbo four-cylinder, hich is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The 337 sports numerous performance upgrades, ncluding unique red brake calipers, front chin spoiler, ody-color side skirts, rear spoiler, nd huge 18-inch BBS alloy wheels shod with meaty 225/40R18 Michelin tires. Inside, etal pedals, ecaro sport seats, nd a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching round out the package. The GTI 337 is available only in silver
