When the head of Jaguar, ill Lyons, et out to put Jaguar on the podium at Le Mans in 1950, is efforts created the C-Type. Based originally on the XK120 platform and engine, he XK120“C” stood for Competition. Unveiled in 1951, t immediately took a first place finish, nd again in 1953 before the D-Type took over as the new racing legend. With the C-Types short-lived success on the track, ts place in racing history is forever assured. Only 53 units were said to have been produced, f which were all sold to the public for normal street use and to driven to the track on race day. They proved to be very tractable road cars!

This beautiful alloy-bodied 1953 Jaguar C-Type replica was produced by the skilled craftsmen of JVA Automoviles Especiales based in Buenos Aires, rgentina. Using the specifications of an authentic C-Type racer, xpert aluminum artisans produced a 100% dimensionally correct aluminum body matching the original. That splendid body was turned into this left-hand-drive example finished in British Racing Green with Black leather racing seats, nd powered by a robust 4.2L DOHC Inline 6 cylinder engine with 4-speed manual transmission. These time-tested power plants proved to be very efficient since their introduction! Twin SU HIF7 carburetors feed this tuned engine to produce an estimated 220bhp, long with custom made side-exit pipes to emit a wonderful sports-racer exhaust note! The forward tubular chassis was borrowed from a 1965 Jaguar utilizing the design of the later era E-types with a twin wishbone independent suspension, ervo-assisted Dunlop disc brakes, djustable coil-over shocks, nd rack and pinion steering. At the rear, ou will find a period correct live axle with adjustable coil shocks & triangulated panhard bar suspension, long with Girling drum brakes.

Other unique features of this Jaguar include Moto Lita steering wheel, rue Brooklands windscreen, 5” 72-spoke painted wire spoke wheels with matching spare located in lockable storage compartment, uick release racing fuel cap, urn signals, orn, miths instrumentation, eather hood straps along with secondary side lock handles, lternator charging system, nd electric cooling fan. This car still gets our attention when we just walk by it, o we can only imagine the audience it will get while out on the streets!
