This is a very nice surviving, nrestored car with matching numbers. Always garaged. I purchased this car about nine years ago from a Corvette dealer based on the no-hit body, ntegrity and overall originality. Other than the 4-Speed, adio, houlder beltsand the fully tinted glass, t is a no option car. As a road race enthusiast, wanted it this way to feel the briskness of the road and the simplicity in ownership.
The original color is Goodwood Green. The car was painted in lacquer 35 years ago and it is holding up great with no cracking but does have some nicks. This color is Riverside Gold that the original owner thought might look good and he wanted a change. The Interior is 100 percent untouched original and only the carpet is showing any signs of age. Even the original clear plastic floor mats are still with the car.
About nine out of ten mid-year Corvettes have blemishes and imperfections in the paint. It is just an inherent trait with older fiberglass cars. So, n a sense, hese cars always need paint jobs. I've looked a hundreds of beautiful auction cars at top auction companies and can always find several spots where you can't help but think that its just such a distraction to see paint lifting, racking and blistering on such a seemingly new paint job. There is no lifting, eeling or bubbling. It's just old paint with patina and it still has shine to it when polished. Gold wasn't offered on mid-year Corvettes. It actually looks nice in person. Good enough to get thumbs up at every fill up as you enjoy driving her around.
The original door waist seals and fuzzies are present and are in very good condition. This is where the window goes down into the door...those outer seals.
The engine is matching numbers to the car’s original and unmolested data plate under the dash. It has never been apart. All engine bay components are original and matching to the car. Only the water pump was replaced (original is included). The engine does feature the dealer added correct 350hp alloy valve covers. I rebuilt the original Holley carb with ethanol friendly components and used the blue Holley gaskets. I also just installed an ethanol friendly OEM fuel pump.
In my ownership, have replaced the rear mufflers with Magnaflows, dded new stainless rear tips and new chrome bezels. I replaced the rocker panel covers and replaced thesill covers. I rebuilt the left headlight motor so that it matched the speed of the right side and I had the front end aligned with the steering wheel perfectly centered. This cars drives tight and smooth. They are only original once.
The stance is excellent, ice and low and level from left to right. The car tracks perfectly down the highway and is a joy to drive. There are no cracks on the dash top and no rips or tears in the seat upholstery. The engine is quiet, ransmission shifts perfectly and rear axle geared 3.36:1 is quite.
This is a great candidate to restore, cuff and respray back to Goodwood Green, onvert to a 427 clone or Pro-Tourer. I looked at over 25 cars before buying this car for it’s originality and perfect panel fit. The bumpers were replaced with NOS units and they are pristine. They don’t come along often like this.
I have provided a safe home and adult driven her sparingly in my ownership. The car is sold with a Georgia registration certificate, notarized bill of sale and a copy of the Georgia law stating that older cars in the South and the State of Georgia are non-title vehicles. Most states will honor this and will transfer to a title in your State. Please verify with your DMV before bidding. I have sold cars world wide this way. Car is insured with Hagerty and always garaged.
Regarding matching numbers and build dates I have cut and pasted several statements from Corvette forums for you to view and then I have a form that I filled out from an NCRS on-line webpage that allows you to enter your car's data and in turn gives you the build dates for the body, ngine and final assembly.
The body was made on May 25th
The engine was made on June 1st
Final assembly was on June 9th
Determining Matching Numbers

Dates after the Body Date
Many forget that the body date is just that - the date of the body. When A.O. Smith bodies were being shipped to St. Louis, hey often sat outside waiting for their place on the line. They had dates that were more than a day or two before the final assembly. It is possible that some may have been waiting outside for a long time. Now if a date code on a part is close to all of the other major parts, ut is after the body date, he possibility is strong it is correct.
Engine Assembly Date/Suffix Code:
The engine assembly code looks similar to this: T0601ED. In this case the first letter "T" stands for an engine factory Tonawanda Engine Plant, ither "F" or "V" would indicate Flint, I., K" is used for McKinnon Industries while "S" is used for Saginaw Service. The next two digits stand for the month of the year. In this example "06" or the sixth month, une. The "01" stands for the 1st day of the month. Sometimes (but not always) the letter "I" is substituted for the number "1".
It's possible for the block to be cast the day before the engine was assembled (pad stamp date), lthough that's rare; two days to two weeks between the casting date and engine assembly date is "typical", nd up to a month or two is not unusual. Once the engine was assembled, t had to get to St. Louis by rail, nd that took 3-5 days.
“NCRS allows full judging credit for up to six months prior to the car's final assembly date for the block casting date, lthough that is not typical
