Description

this camaro listed here has one of the best bodies ive seen in a long time.it should,since it is a Los built car and has spent most of its life in the western part of the united states.this was and never has been a rusty rebuilt car like most of the first gen cars have been this day and time.its also my opinion that it is a real rs-ss car.68 was the only year that gm didnt decode the engine option on the trim tag with the other options.i dont have the protecto-plate or any other documentation,most of the time that was lost,trashed and not kept with the car.......
here are some of the things that represent its history to being what it is........
>rare mid year introduction color,ralley green (code J-J)
>customn deluxe interior
>highly optioned car,not a plain striped down model
>big 3/8 fuel line,only high performance 4-barrell quadrajet &holleys used this size line.
>5-leaf multi leaf rear springs
>180 degree relocated heater core
>factory located placement for dual exhaust hangers.
>correct code "bv"12-bolt 4:10 posi-traction rearend
>original radiator support with the large opening and big block mounting holes for 3 core radiator.
car does have the big block & muncie close ratio transmission that are period correct in appearance.it is not numbers matching.as far as condition goes its had a complete body off subframe restoration.it is extremely very very nice and well done.this car is HIGHLY detailed through out,top to bottom.look at the pictures,underneath this car is as nice as the interior...........i did mention earlier that this car was built in california,bodies there are well preserved.car stil retains most if not all of its original sheetmetal.like floors,quarters,trunk,rockers,ect.......paint is very nice.there are typical blemishes,but theyre so faint that a digital camera wont pick them up.i did mention earlier about it being a non striped down low option version,it has 23 options!some are very rare like speed warning and fiber optic ash tray light?..they are as follows:
A02=tinted windshield J50=power brakes U03=tri-volume horn ZJ9=fiber optic
D34=day/night mirror L35=325-396 UI5=speed warning Z21=exterior bright drip rail
D55=console with floor shift M21=close ratio transmission UI7=tach&gauges Z22=rally sport equ.
D80=rear spoiler equ. N40=power steering U63=push button radio Z23=interior decor pkg
D91=nose stripe N34=sport style wheel V31=front bumper guard Z87=custom deluxe interior
G80=positraction PL5=raised white letter tires V32=rear bumper guard
cars like this thats never been abused are getting harder to find in this condition.plus add the fact of the rarity of color and options.most everything works.the last time i tried the wipers they didnt?(i wouldnt drive this car in the rain anyway).all body gaps are nearly identical.......this is just an idea to give you the cars condition and how that affects value.it is whats classified as a "2"car. the cars that are considered"1" cars are extremely rare.they are usually untouched,original paint,or cars that been restored using as many nos parts available at no care for cost.the CPI black book that most major auctions use like mecum,value these cars at $58,500.for a number "2".but the reserve on this car is alot less than this figure.
im a dealer doing business as hathcock auto sales & restoration.i dont sell junk,so what you see here is what you get.as like all vehicles this old,if your bidding,your accepting it as-is.no warranty,expressed or implied.if you have to get permission from someone else to bid or purchase,then get that before hand.and please only bid if you already have the funds available.im not going to wait on a loan to go through or an appraisal.this not only waste the run time for the auction,but it takes away someone elses chance to get the car they want.there is not deposit to be put down.BUT,within 3 days of auctions end or buy it now,full payment will be required.or it will be offered to next highest bidder.i do this because im not always readidly available at times.im firm on my terms.i have to be like this because of a few bad apples?do your due diligence before bidding.sometimes used vehicles this age has faults of there own,seen and unseen.un-forseen things could exist that are not known by past or present buyers or sellers.all statements are based on opinion.upon winning bid you acknowledge you have read and understand the info stated here.you also relieve the seller blameless of information contained or omitted.....you have to list this stuff.because a few people will think your responsible for knowing or should know the whole life of a car since it was new?which i dont....i have a friend that works at a major transport co. as a dispatcher.most of the time he can get cars moved for around .50 to .60 cents a mile(average)thats extremely cheap.this is a real nice car,so bid to own it.
after i up-loaded the pictures i noticed that the color of the paint didnt show up as "vibrant"..meaning it looks more pale on the pictures.the paint is a little more darker.it was really overcast and cloudy that day.if you want a better idea of the cars "rich"& bright color,look at the picture of the drivers side quarter panel and wheel showing the detail of the gas tank,suspension and exhaust hanger........what im trying to say is,the paint look is actually correct than the pictures?they are more rally green cars on here listed,look at those and youll get a better idea.
