Anti-q, E bay buyer and seller member since 1999 .
Please look at my feedback:
Hell,
This is only my second time dealing with a auto on E Ba, y first time was buying this auto by auction on E Bay was 3/7/2007
and my second time is now sell this by auction on E bay .
This is not a fully restored classic auto but is a strong runner .
First a thank you to the Triumph Experience Club that helped me lear,
never a member but a real fan .
And a thank you to my Pal The Ship Captain that has run her up and maintain her for over 2 years
every single month when he came home from sea .
I had this picked up by a car with a U haul trailer in Tallahasse, lorida and it went to Decatu, labama on a U haul trailer .
When I Won this Spitfire it had a total of 36,014 miles today it has 38,680 miles on her . Only 2,667 miles put on in almost nine years.
As you see she has been driven little and only loaned to a few high school proms as a photo prop and driven in a few small town
holiday parades .
For me this was a purchase out of passion because my first auto I ever had was in 1971 and was a 1971 MK IV SPITFIRE .
This really goes a lot faster than my first Spit and when I first got this I did take it top down at up to 95+ mph it could have gone faster
but I scared the heck out of my self and eased down and have since driven it with respec, slow and carefully the times I have taken her
out .
In the next to last photo I have taken a picture of the original listing so you can read what the last owner before me had to say and what I paid .
I will to the best of my knowledge explain the Auto to you:
Make and Model : Triumph Spitfire 150, ade in Englan, (UK)
Body style : Italian Designer 2 Door Sports Convertible .
Mechanical :Runs stron, emperature gauge is in normal rage and oil pressure gauge is in normal range .
Engine : Triumph Factory 1500 # FN3333UESS
A not often seen Factory mark stamped on engine meaning the new engine was factory supplied spare/replacement engine
or special system, o it may have fewer miles on it due to the first engine failing and being replaced by the Triumph company
being under warrant, really don't know for sure but did find this information from a Spitfire Club .
Only 1976 model year the compression ratio was raised to 9.1:1. in the u.s. and back down in 1977 .
Transmission : 4 speed manual floor tunnel mounted stick shift .
Interior : Is original and wor, he top of the original black dash has split vinyl due to ageing from the heat .
The color is called New Tan with original carpet door panels and two vinyl bucket seats .
Exterior : Repainted in 2009 in Red with a dash of silver metal flake with some nick and flaws.
Tires: 4 Michelin Tires with under 1,000 miles true miles on them and one old spare and wheels are stock .
This auto was Improved to drive and not to stock .
Improvements made before me by the previous owner had done to the car .
1. Carburetor : Old stock converted to a Carburetor by Webe, Weber downdraft .
Not set up for air California Code .
2. Added a Electric radiator fan that was not a original feature .( I had the mechanic replaced the old stock
fan so It now has both stock belt fan and automatic electric that cuts on when extra is needed in slow traffic so never over heating . )
3. Added a Oil radiato, ot a original feature.
4. Replaced Alternator .
5. Battery tray added .
6. Resealed rubber seal of trunk .
7. Installed a oil pressure gauge that was not a original feature .
And many other things .
The Things I have had done .
1. New motor for inside fresh air and winter Heater and with new water lines .
2. Tune ups .
3. Oil chang, ilter and lines .
4. Spark Plugs and wires .
5. Engine Seals
6. Chrome Valve Cover
7. New Two Spare radiator hose, lectric bulbs, nd drive belt to keep in trunk just in case .
8. A New electric Starter .
9. New Paint 7 years ago .
10. original stock Radiator Fan .
11. Two original horns installed .
12. Just like the old stock I had a New refinished Wood dash Panel installed and remounting the original brass car badge .
While it being replaced out the mechanic replaced the bulbs with new .
4 years ago I had A body man cut out rusted part of floor pan and riveted new metal plate in its place for safety on the drivers side .
Things I suggest to be done before they get too bad : There is new rust now in the back of the fixed floor pan that I just discovered
while inspecting it before this sale and I recommend having it cut out and patched before it can get bigger than the silver dollar size it
is now and rusted to its other side as shown in photo, here is some bubble rust under paint on the passenger side in the front rocker
panel and small holes that let moisture in on top that caused this .shown in photo .
This Good Looker Auto is now Forty years Old so if you are going to road rally that is not a good idea so just take it gently. There is a
lot to consider with it having so much power and most of its original parts It would be in order for safety reasons not to race at this
time .I also highly recommend if you are from out of town that you U haul trailer it your destination like I did and ease your way into
driving and you wont hurt this Great Gal out on a longer trip that could cost you more money or more .
Please look at photos closely . Please keep in mind the age .
I have added the first E bay listing from 2007 in a photo as well as the rust damage .
Your turn to proudly own .
Thank you for looking and best of luck .
