This is a classic 1968 Mustang Convertible with red exterior, black vinyl interior and a black vinyl top. It has a completely rebuilt 200 cu / 3.3L inline 6 cylinder rebuilt engine and re-manufactured automatic transmission. If you are looking for your next winter project here "she" is ready to drive into your shop and start your rebuild (her name is Lucy). Be sure to review all photos and descriptions and ask any questions before you bid. Lucy looks good from 20 feet however she does need paint and body work and the undercarriage needs serious work to remove rust and prevent further decay. Summary below provides the good, the not so good and the ugly: The Good: Lucy's like-new Michelin radial tires, new fuel tank, very good front and rear chrome bumpers, rebuilt engine with new crankshaft and rod bearings, new cam bearings, new valves, new push rods, new pistons, new connecting rods, new seals, new gaskets, heads and valve seats resurfaced/re-seated, new brake lines and brakes refurbished. Newly re-manufactured automatic transmission (Jennings). Very good black vinyl seats and black carpet. Good black vinyl boot cover. New fuel tank and new brake lines. Drives good, transmission shifts fine, engine runs fairly good and always turns heads (a good 20 footer). The not so good: Lucy's red paint looks good from 20 feet but is definitely showing her age. I don't know for sure but I guess she was painted about 8 years ago and she now has paint cracks, small scratches, minor dents and dings, dented rear lower valence, rust bubble on right door corner, heavy bondo and unmatched paint on lower 4 inch rear section of front right fender, dent and paint damage on hood and generally in need of paint refinishing. Fuel gage needs to be recalibrated (shows 1/2 tank at full). Lucy purred like a kitten until this spring. Now she is hard to start and runs a bit ragged at times. The carburetor has been rebuilt however she still idles a bit ragged. I recommend adding a Pertronix Ignitor to the distributor to provide a more reliable spark control. The ugly: Lucy is suffering from rust and decay in several areas of the undercarriage. Most of the decay is in auxiliary body panels under the undercarriage such as below the floor pans. A few areas may need major repair in order to stop the rust and prevent further decay. Some areas may lead to structural failure if not properly attended to (front frame rails may need replacement or welding on additional support plates). Forgot to mention: The driver's door apparently has been replaced with a 1967 door. The data tag is 7T01C08759.
