This very unique '59 Edsel retractable was built several years ago. It began its life as a '59 Ford Skyliner (retractable) convertible. The '59 Edsel and '59 Ford have many interchangeable parts. Everything necessary was taken from a '59 Edsel Corsair convertible to create what I'm told Edsel had planned to make before they went bankrupt. The top functions flawlessly. It has its original, fully rebuilt EDSEL 361 engine. The 2-stage, 3-speed automatic transmission has also been rebuilt. It starts and runs and rides beautifully. The front brakes are new DISC. It has the full '59 Galaxie tri-color interior. It has a signal seeking radio, factory AC, power steering, brakes, windows and seat. Full newer interior. Tinted glass. There's a spare in the continental kit for the rear 2 tires, and another in the car's tire well to work with the front disc rotors. Evidence of the fabrication to convert the car from a cloth top to a retractable top shows here and there if you hunt for it. Rich metallic green paint with an ivory-white top. Has won many trophies since the day it was built.
