Description |

Up for auction is a 1939 Autocar COE (to the best of my knowledge the truck is a 1939 - I only received a bill-of-sale with the truck). The truck belonged to a friend of my wife's grand father. He owned a trucking company and had a thing for Autocar trucks. He planned to restore it but never go to around to it. The gentleman has since passed away and the family did not have any interest in it. I purchased it in a package deal with an antique Mack LJT that was the last semi by grandfather-in-law owned. I plan to do something with the Mack and don't see myself doing anything with this truck anytime soon.
The cab with the five windows, suicide doors and classic late 30's styled grill is very appealing and would make a very cool hot rod, rat rod, custom semi or car hauler.
The truck has not ran in many years so consider the drive train to be not useable in its current condition. The rear wheels are locked up so a truck or trailer with a strong winch will be required to load. I do have a tractor that can assist pushing from the rear although my loader does not have enough lifting capacity to lift the rear end of the truck. I'm sure there may be some parties interested in just the cab however I plan to sell the truck complete as it is setting at my cabin and I don't have the time to separate the cab from the chassis.
Please note that this is a major project that is going to require more than one weekend to get road worthy. I pride myself on being completely truthful when describing an item that I auction so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or to request additional pictures (Dan 616-836-4369). As I mentioned the truck is at my cabin which is a 4 hour drive from my home. I plan to be there this coming Friday through the weekend and will not be able to provide more information until then.
The truck will be sold with a bill-of-sale with no warranties implied or otherwise.
I have the starting price listed under what I have in the truck and the auction is no reserve once the first bid is placed.
Please only bid if you are serious. I do not want any hassles with buyers backing out or not being able to have the truck shipped. Please check in to those issues before you bid. The truck can stay where it is for a month or so if need be however it will not be delivered until full payment is made.I will not be responsible for the vehicle while it is being stored as I do not live at that location and can not keep an eye on the items on a regular basis.
I am requesting a $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction close and full payment within 72 hours unless arrangements are made and agreed upon otherwise.
The buyer is responsible for shipping.
