We have up for auction today an 1963 Chevrolet C10 pickup. This truck is a regular cab, short bed, stepside. It is rusty, it is loud, and it will lay a little rubber down. Call it a hot rod, rat rod, shop truck, death trap, street rod, diamond in the rough, or whatever you want. We got this truck off the street. The seller didn't know much about it, according to him it has a 70's c10 front suspension under it, so that includes power disk brakes (need to be bled), and power steering with coil springs. The engine is from, what we can tell, a small block 307, late 60's circa. The transmission is a 4 speed, with granny 1st gear or, what we call, the "car show" gear. It is geared pretty low. It has the ram horn manifolds with open exhaust dumping right under the cab. It has an aluminum radiator to keep it nice and cool. The engine sounds great and it has plenty of power. I believe it has the factory peg leg rear end in it. The rear frame has been modified to sit lower and had a 4 link set up. The truck rides well for how low it is. The floors are rusty, the cab corners are rusty, the bed is rusty. It has a grill off an earlier C10, the doors are off a diff truck. The tail lights turn on. No brakes lights, and the turn signal switch is mickey moused. The horn does work. This truck is an absolute blast to drive. If it had full exhaust, I'd drive it every day. Speed bumps and steep driveways are not it's friend, and it's biggest enemy is an unseen pot hole. The truck needs new tires on the front, they are shot, rears are new. The windows go up and down fine, door locks are in-op, gauges don't work, and you can see the road beneath you. I am running this truck with a low reserve. I've been around old cars since I was born, and have been buying and selling them for over 10 years. This one has some of the best character and attidue I've seen. You can not drive this down the road without a smile on your face! I have more photos on my website stautoutah.com
