Description

Awesome little car that is a blast to drive. Gets comments, smiles, and thumbs up everywhere I drive it. This car would make a great daily driver or just tool around on the weekends.
Drivetrain is solid. The car has a 2.0 liter from a 1976 bus in it with dual Weber 40 IDF's and dual exhaust with J-Pipes and shorty cherry bomb mufflers with chrome tips. I just synchronized and balanced the carbs and timed the motor as well as adjusted the valves. Inside of motor is clean. Starts right up, pulls hard, no smoke, standard oil leakage (but nothing major). Has a nice exhaust note. Transmission shifts fine, doesn't pop out of gear or grind while shifting. Clutch is solid, no slippage. Has a new electric fuel pump that was installed with the new carbs.
Car is lowered about 4 inches in the front and has brand new tires on the front. Rear tires are older, but are basically 90% tread. Wheels are Empi GT-8 clones, but look good. Brakes work great, relatively speaking (remember, we are talking about a VW!). Has disc brakes in front and drums in back. Pedal is solid, doesn't bleed and doesn't need to be pumped every time you stop. Handles great on the road, doesn't wander, no slop in the steering, corners awesome.
Body was repainted Corvette Yellow several years ago, but was not done professionally, so there are some imperfections, but it shines nicely. Car was recently polished and waxed. Has some rust in the hood and lower corner of passenger front fender. Rest of body is solid. Pan is generally solid except for some holes under the battery tray. Oh, BTW, I put a brand new battery in it last weekend.
Now, to the interior. It has the original headliner and it is in excellent shape. No rips, tears, stains. The rest of the interior is nothing to get too excited about. It's there, but is worn and shows its age. All glass is good except for windshield which has a couple cracks in it. Windows will be tinted next week to improve its overall appearnace as well as obscure the lacking interior. Has two decent bucket seats from another car (a Mazda something or other).
This car is a solid runner and was used as a daily driver for many years. The car is located in Carnation, Wa.
I am selling locally and reserve right to cancel auction if vehicle is sold.
