1991 Range Rover Classic SWB

Introduction:
This truck will kick off the fall event season and as far as I can see she’s absolutely the one to grab! She is everything you could want from the vintage – fully serviced – high attention to detail – enthusiast and technician overhauled – low miles – low ownership history - and arguably the best and most lasting color combination in RRC history. With an outstanding CARFAX history to its credit and now with my care and preparation campaign, she is ready to take on whatever plans this season has in store for you.

Driving & Performance:
This truck fires right up and idles perfectly. Hit the gas and she has TONS of power – you would think twice that maybe just maybe there’s an engine upgrade in there… but alas… that’s just the way a serviced, low mile Rover V8 was supposed to run – AWESOME. Your 3.9L RRC will keep people guessing as you leave them in your rear-view every time the light turns green. No overheating, no ticks, knocks, stumbles or hesitation. Just LOTS of available power.
Kickdown from the tranny is effortless and precise – making her surge onto the freeways with total confidence. To that point, she drives like she’s on rails – totally smooth, sure of itself, and straight. Steering is excellent, and you can corner with ease as there is virtually no body roll or sway.
I have been commuting with her daily and she is relentlessly reliable in all conditions. Of course due to the top-end overhaul including a personal touch – the 160 degree, triple bridge, single bypass thermostat. It’s the same one I race with and really takes care of the motor under the most demanding conditions.
The brakes have been overhauled too. So when it comes time for an emergency stop this truck will bite the ground as it was meant to - with serious power and precision. The wheel bearings and races were in excellent condition and I repacked them – resealing the inner and outer hubs along the way.
Attention paid to the starting/charging system means that you have excellent performance where it counts – even heading into the inclement weather season.
The newly fitted Michelin Latitudes are the great grandson of the original Michelin XMS. The Latitudes offer great highway manners and excellent off road traction – these are the tires fitted to most of the new generation of Rovers off the assembly line.
Aesthetics & Operation:
She’s no doubt a head-turner and even towards the end of the shoot, grabbed the attention of a newer RR owner and asked that I put them side by side for a photo… but more on that later.
She’s undeniably time-warp – the Alpine White paint still smooth and reflective. I had to shoot her at 6am to capture the tones of color while its was still not quite as light outside – had I waited, I would have had a portfolio of BLINDING WHITE reflective pictures (and yeah… I’ve included a few of those glamour shots too)! The Bahamma coloured leather interior is still in excellent condition – soft, smooth, and comfortable. A nice touch here too are the GENUINE Range Rover products fitted – the branded all weather mats are new and out of the box and the wheel center caps help give it that frozen in time feeling.
The headliner, and rear outer quarter vinyl panels are brand-new and from top to bottom, she feels (and even smells) like a new car. To that point, she has never been a smokers car and there are no lingering odors in the cabin or ventilation system.
The AC is serviced just in time for the demands of summer and works BRILLIANTLY. Your exposed skin is cold in minutes and thankfully, the heating works just as well to take the bite away!
Lights, horns, blinkers, windows, handles, power-latches and locks, etc all work too, cruise does not.
She also retains her original jack and tools & full sized Synchrone spare!
She’s an A- cosmetically in my opinion. She will look as good as the best of them, but has her share of normal dings, dents and scratches all around. Inside, you will find normal wear as hands and feet have been there before you… 25 years in the making. While she could easily be made concourse ready, she is more the Rover that you’re not afraid to get into and go! If you have ANY detail oriented questions, please ask!
Purchasing, Perspective & Why Buy From Me:
Please read my outstanding feedback from folks like you! No one sends off a Land Rover or Range Rover better than me, PERIOD. It’s the vehicle I drive, and the vehicle I RACE. Nearly two decades of Rover ownership and service are poured into every Rover that I see into new hands.
The commitment to service here is a commitment to my own passion and to a shared bond between enthusiasts. You wont find that anyplace else. Beware of any vintage Rover that does not share the same service points as the ones I advertise with my collection. They are ESSENTIAL for long term reliability and any Rover without these services are ticking time bombs. I am not a Land Rover tech that drives home in a Honda Civic. I come from a long line of British Car technicians and Live, Breathe and even RACE the green oval. I understand ALL of your concerns and needs and do my best to ensure that you will be happy based on a simple, yet powerful concept: DOES THIS VEHICLE MAKE ME HAPPY? WOULD I PUT MY FAMILY IN IT? WOULD I LOVE TO HAVE IT? The answer is always yes. And that’s when I know they are ready. I care. I know you do, too.
To that point - watch out for my copy cats. It has come to my attention that people claim they work with/partner with me. This is not true. If you aren’t buying one from me… its, well, NOT from me!!!
THE IDEA OF "NEW TO ME VS. A NEW CAR"
I am VERY proud of each and every Rover that I hand select and hand-craft. As amazing as all of them are, i wouldnt ever say any of them are "perfect." None of them are and I have only used the term museum piece ONCE. And i am well aware of the qualifiers for that monicker.
With each and every listing, i try to capture the flavor of what strikes me about each vehicle. I try to capture their essence. I try to make the description feel like a conversation between you and I, or even a phone call. Covering the general and intimate details that stand out to me. That said, we all know that while they are all Rovers, all made in the same place, each one is different. While I try to make my listings fun, informative and conversational, it still doesn’t cover the other five million previously fitted original parts left on the truck:
It is not possible to discuss every nut and bolt, but I have done my best to list and discuss what would matter to ME. Let me know what matters TO YOU. While she may soon be “new to you” she is “not new” and you should be prepared for all that is involved with owning a used vehicle. She is sold as-is without warranty or exception and there are no refunds. That said, there is not ANYTHING that concerns me about her overall reliability, cosmetics and functionality. If there were gross issues, I would be talking about that – in fact – I would have fixed them! I invite you to ask ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS NOW!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE – ASK AWAY!
There are no queries too obscure; your satisfaction is the goal here. Additionally, eBay offers a 3rd party inspection service to verify ALL of your acquisition needs IN PERSON. Purchase of the vehicle = SATISFACTION. Once this auction is over, the winning bid and purchase imply that satisfaction has been achieved and will be understood as such.
This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so you are bidding to win! Please make sure that you bid ONLY what you are prepared to pay. This means, when the auction is over, and the winning bid is placed, this becomes THE SALE PRICE of the vehicle. Under no circumstances does it open the door to negotiate or back out of your commitment. The people bidding for this vehicle actually want it. Do not spoil their chances at ownership by arm-chair bidding. Yes, everyone joins eBay at some point, and there is no prejudice against lower transaction numbers here – HOWEVER – if I suspect and/or become aware of any insincerity on the part of said bidder, I reserve the right to cancel all bids from and block that insincere bidder from this auction.
Completion of this transaction is fairly straight forward. Once the auction is over, I will be contacting the winner immediately and we can discuss sending ownership materials and payment. YES – I can help with shipping – I will
Who is this truck for?
As the fall season comes rushing in, she’s everything the veteran and new-comer alike could hope for: She’s been fully serviced, she’s gorgeous, she’s functional and a true joy to drive. Somehow the white Range Rover Classic’s are the calling card to proud ownership… it’s very difficult to keep any white vehicle clean – let alone a Rover – let alone under the hood! …but when they are… they look the best. And I will break precedent here… I never include other Rover’s in my vehicles show display. I was flattered however in this instance by the other Rover owner’s desire to have his newer MKIII photographed with a truck that he most certainly enjoyed looking at more than his own. And for me, that was a great instance of collector/technician’s pride. The table HAS turned and just about everyone out there knows it. The Range Rover Classic has taken center stage – almost over any other model out there… and of the two Range Rovers featured in the second-to-last photo, one has much less miles, is certainly more reliable, and now, worlds more valuable… can you guess which one it is? Good luck and happy bidding – thanks for the continued interest and Happy Rovering!!!!
