Description |
---|
This is a neat old truck. It's an F6 wrecker, built new in '52 for a ford dealership in Lewiston idaho. These trucks are not around much anymore, especially in running condition. The truck runs and drives and is nearly rust free. It has one small spot in one floorboard, and that's it. The spot would not need repaired either if you don't want to. This old classic runs and drives but is not roadworthy. It will drive around enough for yard driving, but needs some work first before being put on the road. Below are all the details on the truck. This would be an awesome truck to drive as-is or restore. Take it to car shows, tow a trailer, tow cars, or? It would be cool for any auto related business, or racing business. Thanks, and happy bidding.
NOTE: to accurately view the pics above, click on one and then scroll through them. I also have many more pics available and can email a link. Video of it running also.
MECHANICAL
BODY
The body and wrecker body are in nice shape. The cab, fenders, hood, and doors are straight. No bondo. Only one spot of rust on the cab. Its a small spot in the passenger floorboard. It would not need to be repaired, but easy to do if you want to. No other cab rust. No rust in fenders, hood, frame, or doors. The Wrecker bed is nice and dry also. This has cool vintage lights on the top and also a neat spotlight. This truck has cool patina and what may have been the original paint from when it was made into a tow truck. Doors and hood open/close properly. Overall a really dry and solid truck.
INTERIOR
Not much to say here that the pictures don't say. I did think I had pics of the seat but couldnt find them. The seat needs recovered. There is now a temporary seat cover in it for moving it around. Dash and gauge area in good shape. I don't think it has a headliner but may have had a headliner board originally and they are easy to replace. Floormats are available and cheap also. It's an old truck, with an old interior. It's really inexpensive and easy to restore.
OVERALL
I personally like to see unique things at car shows. I like all the rods and musclecars, but I've never seen an old tow truck at a car show and I've been to many shows. You can look at this truck and know there is a lot of history there, and it will still do the job. Thanks for your interest and happy bidding.
