This has been a great car; I’ve owned it 3 1/2 years, drive it during the summer only and store it during the winter.

Up for auction is my 2005 Mercedes SLK 350 with the AMG package. I’m the third owner (or fourth according to Car Fax as a transfer from the leasing company to the original lessor counted as two owners). I’ve owned this car for the past 3.5 years. During that time, I’ve put 22,000 miles on it and averaged almost 25 MPG.

This has been a GREAT car. I only planned on owning it for a summer and then selling it. Every year I get it out of storage and swear I’m going to sell it. Then I start driving it, and remind myself why I love the car so much. Next thing you know, I’ve driven it for another season.

Oh well, it has to go, I’m not sure what I’ll buy next but I have to break up with this car before I find myself still driving it in 10 years. J

I put new tires on it right before putting it up last year and they have about 2,000 miles on them.

The only issue I know of relates to the passenger seat occupancy switch. When someone sits in the passenger seat, then leaves the SRS light will illuminate for a little bit. This is a known issue and does not affect the function of the airbags while there is a passenger. However, it may allow the passenger side airbags to active in a crash even though there is no occupant. There is such a common issue that there is a fuse you can pull that will kill the SRS light, but not the function. The proper repair is to replace the passenger side occupancy sensor. Since I hardly ever carry a passenger, this hasn’t bugged me enough to bother with it.

Here are the Terms of Sale:

This car is located in Southbury, CT (about 30 miles from Hartford, 15 miles from Danbury), and is being sold without warranty.

$100 is due within 48 hours of successful bid by wire transfer, cashier’s check or PayPal. The balance is due within 7 days of successful bid by wire or cashier’s check prior to pick up or shipment unless otherwise arranged – buyer is responsible for any sales tax payment or shipping costs.

The successful bidder is welcome to have the car inspected any time prior to final payment &/or pick-up. Let me say that again, if you bid on this car and then find something wrong and you don’t want the car, I’ll return your deposit. If you win and then come out and say you don’t like the color, I’ll refund your deposit minus the relisting fee.

You or your mechanic can come to conduct the inspection, or local mechanics are also available for hire. After your inspection should you decide against the purchase your deposit will be refunded 100% and the car will be returned to the market. If you do not have an inspection or at least come out and look at the car and don’t purchase, the deposit is forfeited.

Be aware this is a great car but it is used, so expect it to not be new.

Shipping is the purchasers responsibility, though I will help coordinate shipment. Car must be paid for in full before it is shipped. If you choose shipping, you own the car before it goes.
