Description

This fully documented original southwest "S" code GT. is Springtime Yellow with black GT stripes and matching black interior.Since beingtotally restored it has only been driven 599 miles and has been kept in a climate controlled environment.. The condition of the car is excellent and all the equipment on the car, including all options, are original to it and matches how it left the factory as documented by it's original build sheet and it's Marti Report. The single exceptions are the Hurst shifter which can be swapped back to the original factory shifter which is in perfect condition, and it'sFlow Master exhaust that sounds too good to swap out. The factory shifter has been re-chromed, rebuilt and reassembled correctly so that shifting is crispand positive. So many do not get reassembled correctlybut done right, they work very well.Options include, Front Disc brakes, heavy duty suspension, styled steel wheels, four speed manual top loader transmission, Sport steering wheel, tachometer, AM radio and 3.25:1 Equa-Lock differential, all of which aredocumented as original to this GT. In 1967 a floor console was optional and not ordered for this car, which I find as a welcomed improvement. It was built in Atlanta and shipped to Lufkin Ford in Lufkin Texas where it remained until being retired.

This rust free southwest GT retains all of it's original undamaged body panels and sheet metal including floor pans, torque boxes and trunk floor. There are no signs of rust or pitting or prior damage anywhere pointing to the fact that it was a good solid car prior to restoration. All aluminum trim was re-anodized or replaced with NOS.All Chrome items were re-plated or replaced with NOS including all emblems and the GT specificgrill. The bumpers, tail light housings, door handles etc have been re-plated. The engine, was rebuilt and runs beautifully and strong and has40 PSI oil pressure at idle. The 4 speed top loader transmission and 9 inch 3.25:1 Equa-Lok rear have all been rebuilt and run smooth and quiet. The steering is tight, responsive and light for a car without power steering. It's style steel wheelsare factory originals, not repros, and they are in excellent restored condition. The suspension, steering, drive shaft, sway bar, etc.have been detailed with factory correct paint markings. The interior is all new with the exception of the original dash pad which is in excellent condition. The dashboard & bezels have been re-plated including the chromed plastic dash panel and gage surrounds.

I've owned the car since 2007 and have had maintenance and improvements performed by a top east coast restoration shop. Recent work performed includes new rear brakes and wheel cylinders, new front rotors and calipers, new master cylinder, rebuilt brake booster, new rear leaf springs, re-plated vent window frames, new heater core, and new Autolite restoration battery. This car runs and drives like new or better. It wonFirst Place at the 2005 Fairlane Club of America National meet in Kingsport Tennessee and is better now than it was back then. This car needs nothing but someone to enjoy owning itas a collector car, a show car, a cruise night car or all of the aforementioned. All documentation goes with the car including original build sheet, Marti report, owner history, maintenance records and invoices since 2007.The car is an absolute bargain at the reserve or the buy it now price and can not be duplicated for the price.
