I got this car in a trade 18 years ago as it had been sitting after donating it's original engine to a hotrod. The 360 has been gone for over 20 years and the car sat for two or more years before that. It was a long back burner build on this car, and I built a 318 with 1974 360 heads (hardened valve seats) a new 360 stock 2 barrel cam(slightly bigger than a 318 stock cam), I had the transmission built by a friend experienced in the Chrysler 727 transmissions, and I bought new brake cylinders, calipers and lines, I had the gas tank boiled patched by a radiator shop that I trust, recovered the seats in vinyl, and custom made a gold cloth headliner. I got it running a year ago and have been sorting it out.
I have made trips to nearby towns in it, with no problems. It needs new tires before I set out on a longer trip. The car still has the original single exhaust, which needs to be swapped to a dual exhaust to take advantage of the upgrades to the engine. But it runs out good as it is but has asmall leak that I haven't tried to quiet yet as the plans have always been to put dual exhaust on it.
Tail gate handle was broken when I got it, but worked fine with a vise grip. I bought aused handle and haven't got it to where it works both tailgate and tail as a door. Rear window doesn't roll up or down, the handle must be in tailgate mode to lower . I have bought a new tailgate window switch and gear for the window transmission if it is that. I haven't gotten around to fixing that but I did buy a manual for that part of the 1973 Chrysler Plymouth Dodge C bodies that can go with the car if it is not fixed by end of auction.
A sway Bar link is broken, but they are available again after a long period that they were hard to find except in a wrecking yard.
Radiator was gone through by the same shop that did the gas tank.
I didn't put a radio in it yet, as I had a am/fm factory radio that needs a separate crossover control. I may put a aftermarket stereo in it. I haven't bought carpet for it yet, I did patch two areas in the front floor that a leak in either the window or the CB radio antenna in the roof area caused. A limb hit the roof during a storm and I have straightened that out when I puled the headliner out. The patches were cut to fit and conformed to the curve of the floor, then welded in. Sealed with coating. Ready for carpet.
This car is not perfect and is not priced as if it were. That said, I do not want to see it go to the demolition derbies. I saved it from the crusher and will not sell to anyone that professes that they will derby it. Go find a rustbucket for that. Car is in east central Mississippi, near intersection of I 59 and I 20.
