Custom, one off 1953 Willys Overland! This truck was purchased by my grandfather in 1962. I pulled it out of his field ten years ago where it went through a tedious, meticulous restoration.Every part was taken apart, sandblasted and then completely customized. I just finished it last summer and it won almost every show I took it to including several best of shows. It is a pearl orange with a tri-coat white pearl. It is sitting on a fully boxedS-10 frame with front wheel disc brakes, power steering, Vintage AirA/C, tilt wheel. It rides on a Ride Tech air ride suspension system.A beautiful chevy 350 powers it and a ford9" rearend puts the power to the ground.Every engine part that could be polished billet aluminum or chrome was added. Every nut and bolton the truckis either stainless or grade 8. No expense was spared on this build.
*BODY- Entire body was sandblasted inside and out. Top was chopped 4 1/2". Bed was all handmade along with side pockets and tailgate.Rear fenders were off a 1954 Ford F100 which were widened to accommodate for wider tires. Front fendersstarted out as a f-100 fender but were also widened and had a set of frenched headlights from a 1950'sford coupe added in. Headlights are new halogen tri-bar style. The original Willys grillewas shortened and widened to accommodate thefront grille opening from a dodge. The hood is part of the original hood and partof a f-100 which was pancaked and the front was handmade to matchup to everything else. The originalgrille emblem was slightly modified to tie everything up front all together. Everything was meticulously welded and designed to all bolt together flawlessly. Custom running boards tie the front fenders to the rear fenders. An oak bed from Bedwood was installed in the bed with stainless strips with hidden fasteners. Under a hidden flap in the bed lies the new fuel cell.
*MECHANICS- EngineChevy 350 with approx. 375HP. Engine was taken to a machine shop, fully machined and loaded with all new internals other than the crank which was polished.New hypereutectic pistons, camshaft, Vortec heads, endure shine intake, Holley car, MSD ignition, etc. New aluminum radiator.A new Summit wiring harness. Dual exhaust withFlowmaster mufflers were used.
Transmission is a turbo 350 with a shift kit
Suspension; Air ride suspension by Ride Tech. Ford 9" POSI rearend from a bronco, narrowed and new axles installedwith 350 gears. 3 link from ride techtying everything together.
Wheels; American racing 20" wheels in back and 18" wheel up front.
*INTERIOR- The interior was also completely redesigned. New glove boxes were made to fit better with hidden hardware. The dash was completely redesigned as well. NewVDO gauges were installed and a tach was added as well. A/C/heatcontrols, fuse box and light switch are located in the glove boxes.A center console was made to accommodate the B&M shifter that is wrapped in leather. The seats, headliner, door panels and kick panels were also professionally wrapped in white leather. The steering column is a billet, tilt column. A white billet steering wheel tops it all off!
