On Sep-21-16 at 02:39:13 PDT, seller added the following information:A little more history on the Healey:
It began it's life in the U.S. in New Jersey and my Dad bought it in late 1964 or early 1965 from his recollection. It made it's way down to Maryland and resided at various different residences in Maryland but spent most of the time in Annapolis. The majority of the 51 years in our family, the car a decade or so in an unenclosed carport under a car cover and in various garages with a few years outside under a cover. You will note that salt roads are not a Healey's friend--especially without any corrosion protection or coatings. By 1970, it was time to do some repair on the sills (or rockers as I mentioned in the description) and it appears the repairs included a combination of fiberglass and bonds. You can see this in one of the undercarriage photos if you zoom in. It appears the main frame supports are solid and the car will need some work on the pans. I have not had it up on a lift since I have had possession of it in the last several years but has been in a garage during that time. The last time I recall it was driven was when I was around 13 or 14 years old and much of the reason it sitting was due to the city installing tall speed bumps in our neighborhood so the Healey ended up being landlocked! By the time the city had lost the battle with local kids digging up the speed bumps, my Dad had been on travel and that was when it moved into it's current and dormant phase from what I recall.
Update: I have the fender mount side view mirrors and if I cannot find them by the time the car is picked up, I will ship them to the winning bidder. I am packing and they may have been packed up.
I noticed a number of international bidders wanted to send a courtesy reminder that this is a 'local pickup only' auction and the payment terms are in cash (U.S. Dollars). I will sign the Virginia title over to the buyer during the transaction. Please factor this in as well as the vehicle being picked up with balance paid no more than 3 calendar days after the auction ends. Please contact me with any additional questions.
No international or domestic wire transfers please...thank you.
