1961 International Travelall C120 4 x 4 w/PTO winch high desert western survivor

For sale: Original survivor 1961 International Harvester C 120 4x4 Travelall. I purchased this truck from an older fellow that had owned it for 40 years. He set it up and used it for elk hunting with the big Braden PTO winch mounted out back. nbsp;and rooftop carrier rack. nbsp;and subsequently parked it when he quit hunting. It was originally ordered by the US Government for use by the BLM here out west. in the land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. It has seen only occasional use for the last 30 years. not sure what the mileage is since the odometer is non-op. Good running and driving rig that you can use as is till you restore. I'll do my best to describe it below. Exterior: Solid original paint survivor with just the right patina. 98 percent rust free with minor surface spots. and the only real rust is in driver floor. See link to underside pics. Nothing hidden with undercoat. what you see is what you get. In this arid land. we don't see major rust. cancer or rot - there's just not much moisture and sand. not salt. is used on the roads. Even out here. nbsp;we do see rust in the driver floor from snow on boots melting and also from the windshield seal leaking over time. I believe it's all original paint save for one crude repair to a small area around driver tail light - see pics. Unlike most of these. the doors close great. nbsp;hinges on front doors were replaced at some point (and doors were notched at bottom. see pics) Overall good solid truck. There have been small braces welded to rear upper corners - see pics. Windshield good with just one chip that can be filled. Rear glass is cracked. but a good extra rear glass is included. Rear side glass on both sides is cracked. I may be able to source good ones here. checking the salvage yards now. Chrome hood bezel is excellent with no pitting. some of the emblems are broken and missing. Grille is dented as shown. Interior: Original and showing typical wear. Seats have some tears in seat bottom under covers. Most everything works. nbsp;temp. oil. ammeter gauges. heater blower. wipers. etc - rear window does roll down. but it's weak going up like most of these are- tries to go up. but won't lift glass. Good rear glass is included. when you replace glass. nbsp;clean window regulator and lube and it should work fine. Speedo and fuel gauge non-op. and heater temp cable is stuck in warm position and heater core is bypassed under hood. Rear spare tire well has some damage. looks like the older gentleman "clearanced" the area in front of the tire to make it easier to remove the spare. Headliner in good shape. Just an honest functional truck. Mechanical: Starts. runs. nbsp;drives and stops fine. Big 6 motor and low gearing provide plenty of grunt. 4x4 works fine. Transfer case does whine at higher speeds. Not sure if original motor. I can provide numbers off engine pad. When I pulled the truck out of long term storage. I spent just under a thousand bucks on new battery and complete check over by professional mechanic. Mechanic drained and flushed fuel tank. nbsp;installed new fuel pump and rebuilt carb. Also did tune up. oil change. topped off all fluids and did complete chassis lube and bled clutch and brake systems. Engine does have a bit of valve train noise. about typical for these. nbsp;didn't try to adjust valves. Transfer case and rear end will drip and leave a spot when parked. Carb is not original. I can find an original carb here if you like. Previous owner said this Rochester worked much better than OEM so I stayed with it. Braden winch is mounted to rear frame under back bumper and PTO works and winch spins forward and reverse. Not sure of exact winch model number but possibly LM12. Checking on that - these PTO winches are spendy. Tires are old and weather cracked. Fun to drive and it gets some looks!Pricing/Misc: I got a good deal on this rig and you will too. These trucks in good condition are hard to find and expensive. Travelall 4x4's have gone crazy since the "War Wagon" Travelall (last picture shown) sold for six figures at Barrett Jackson. They are unique and you won't see another one at Cars N' Coffee. If you do a quick Ebay search on the Braden winch. you'll find it's worth a considerable amount on it's own. While it does run and drive. it wouldn't be practical to expect to fly in and drive it home.
