Description

It's time to sell my 1969 Morris Minor Van that I've been restoring as a driver. I love it and use it to cruise out to Folly Beach. go fishing. go to cars and coffee but the reality is that I have too many projects and something needs to go. It's got a single carb 1098cc and 4-speed manual on the floor. This particular Minor van was one of about 300 built in Auckland. New Zealand out of components built in England. Before coming to the US. this van was used in Waitakere. New Zealand. not too far from where it was built. in Stoke. New Zealand. This van is also very rare as it is equipped with windows in the back instead of metal panels. This also makes visibility a lot better and would make for a great camper. food truck. promotional vehicle. or surf wagon. after all. it was built in Stoke. This thing is rock solid without any rust underneath and it wears a freshly powder coated frame. I've put about 500 miles on in since getting it on the road. I bought this truck from a friend a few years ago and have been working on it and enjoying it along the way. Over the past 12 months. the following work has been done: -Re-covered seats -New carpet -New generator brushes -New tail lights -New indicator switch -Concealed CD player and iPhone adapter with 4 speakers -Fresh paint and body work in Coca Cola red - the paint and body is to a decent standard. not a show car but far. far better than a Maaco respray. I have included pictures of the areas that are so-so. -New driver's side door handle -Pertronics electronic ignition conversion -Accel coil -New cab seal I can tell that this truck has had extensive brake work in the past as all wheel cylinders and soft lines appear to be new. The engine and driveline appears to have been refreshed a few years back but I don't have any documentation of this. It runs and drives great and due to the higher final driver ratio in the vans. it's actually quite peppy. It will also cruise at 70mph without a problem. This truck also wears vintage-style Cooper tires which adds to the vintage surf wagon look. The truck is completely solid and rust free. aside from the spot mentioned on the bumper. As this is a driver and not a show truck. the following could use attention: -Driver's door alignment has always been off -Small leak at the front of the windshield - I don't see any rust but I haven't had the glass out -Rust on bumper around over-rider -A few seat straps have snapped -One of the front drum return springs has come loose so I'm fixing that prior to auction close -Interior door panels have been redone but are a bit amateur -Needs a blower motor switch-Door molding around handle needs to be attached (needs to be tapped for grub screw)Clean SC title!
