Inc. Inc. 5202 Limerick Ave. . NWNorth Canton. OH 44720Richard Petty Tribute. stock car looks honoring "The King". Looks like a Richard Petty race car . but with street car manners. This car is for sale by the family of the gentleman who had the car built. This car includes Petty Enterprises Letters! The build started in 2005 after years of searching for just the right car!Paint-The paint is very smooth. shiny. matches well all the way around. and is very professional type work. If you look closely under the hood. and along different parts of the body it appears that possibly all components where removed before paint was applied. (Again a sign of professional workmanship)I do not see any imperfections. or any orange peel. as the paint is very smooth. (Other than maybe a couple pin head size nicks on the edge of the door)I did not notice any scratches in the paint. The white striping and the red and blue are all painted surfaces. The number 43. the STP stickers. and the rest of the signs on the car are all professional high grade decals. Upon the 43 and STP being applied they did develop some light air trap. and some small slices where made to release the air. (Which can only be seen with in five feet of the car)Body-The body panels that are painted red and blue are extremely straight and correct. The fits on the hood. trunk. and both doors are very correct. Very uniform gaps all the way around. again a sign of being very professionally done. I did not notice any dents or irregularities in any of the painted body. MagnetsIn taking random samples with a magnetic gauge . it would appear that most of the paint is in the 10 to 15/1000ths range. Much like many custom repaints. care has been taken to not make the paint to thick. The body indicates all medal panels. with the hint of some possible repair to the rocker areas. and lower quarters at some time. (Very common with these cars after only a few years of use)All repairs appears to be expertly done. Bright Work-All of the bright work appears to be in place as required. and all seems to be secured properly without issue. In the Petty Tribute the front and rear is all painted. The stainless surrounding the windows is in good condition. and could be slightly higher buffed to match the quality of the body and paint. There is a scuff on the piece that runs below the windshield. The antenna and hood fasteners all show very little wear. There is some light pitting on the front Plymouth emblem. as well as the door handles. Glass-All the glass (Windshield. Side glass. Rear Glass) has the same five star solid temperd glass label. it appears to be an older glass. All glass appears to be clear without discoloring and without delamination. We do not see any bulls eyes or cracks in any of the glass. The windshield does have very light normal pitting from road use. and the door glass each have several vertical scratches. common on roll up and down glass. and a few horizontal scratches as well. The quarter glass and rear window show less wear than the others. Interior-The interior is mostly of original style with the exception of the added racing seats. harnesses. B&M shifter. Fire extinguisher. body colored roll bar. and carpeted rear with seat removal. Underneath the rear compartments is storage that contains a jack. four way lug wrench. and extra lugs for the car. In looking at the configuration of the roll bar and rear compartments it looks like it would not be difficult to reinstall a rear seat. (For those who would want one)The headliner and sun visors are all intact. Racing seats and harnesses show very little wear and look recent. (See Pictures)*The dash and side interior panels. (front and rear) all appear to be intact. with a little wear showing. Yet over all very presentable!Gauges and the wood covering all show minimal wear. Steering wheel is solid and intact without noticeable cracking. (Column still retains the original steering mounted gear selector)*Driver and Passenger seats are all on a manual adjustable seat track. however currently in there furthest back position. They would not accommodate the largest of people. Looking at the picture of the roll bar there should be adequate room to mount seat tracks back further. (Up to a buyer to investigate and verify that this could be done)Trunk-The trunk has been very nicely modified . but yet remains functional. The Fuel filler coming from the left rear and entering the trunk is simulation only and is not functional. and goes into a partial fuel cell top to look like a race car would. Yet for service ability it retains an original style and capacity fuel tank. You can see from the pictures that it is very nicely constructed and finished off. (See Pictures)Tires and Wheels-Front tires are Goodyear Eagle 1 NASCAR Size- P255/60/R15 Tread depth 10/32Rear tires are Goodyear Eagle 1 NASCAR Size- P235/60/R15 Tread depth 10/32Wheels are Center Line with Cragar center caps. Wheels do need polished. but wheels and tires do not look to be damaged in any way. The lug nuts are fairly worn with the finish wearing off. The Alloy wheels would shine much better with a little elbow grease and cleaner. Please see the two or three inch section that I polished on the left front wheel in approximately two minutes. Chassis-No signs of rust perforation in any of the supportive structures. as well as the floor pans. Appears to look much as car was built. Even on the ends of the different pieces of sheet medal. I did not see any rust perforation on the edges. They are good. sharp cuts . just as when the medal was cut new. It does have a film of light oil. and what appears to be an older rust proofing. that could have been done years ago. The bottom side has not been re-coated. which is a great way to see it's condition. Some normal oil seepage is found at the bottom of the pan. and the back of the transmission by the inspection plate (There is just a portion of a drop. ooks like typical seepage that you would expect) Same is true at the back of the rear end. Engine and Transmission-The Builders son had indicated that this is a 318 engine with a two barrel carburetor. Look carefully at each nut. bolt. and component. including down in front of the radiator. You can see how professionally this car was disassembled. painted. and reassembled. Note the Richard Petty Signature on top of the custom air cleaner with matching matted crinkle painted valve covers. and header assembly. It does have power steering and manual brakes. rums front and rear. and thought slighting modified as a tribute. most of the structure under the hood has been left intact as it originally would have been.
