Up for auction is a great example of a 1991 Pontiac Trans Am GTA and with only 54. 85 original miles! I wont bore you with all the usual information that people list about the history and production numbers. If you want that kind of information its all over the internet and you can do your own search. As you can see this car has the right color and options to become one of the next and upcoming collector cars. Drive it sparingly like all the past owners and you cant go wrong. Great exterior paint for the age. it shows some very minor rock chips behind the tires and a very small door ding or two. All of them are unnoticable at 10-15 feet away. Everyone asked "if its so nice why are you selling it?" Well here's the story. I went to my local pontiac dealer in 1990 and ordered my first new car and it was a red firebird like this one. although not a GTA (I was 20 at the time and couldn't afford a GTA. they were really expensive) My high school sweetheart and I dated in it. got married and drove away from the church in it and went on our honeymoon in it. Well like most people we bought a new house and started to renovate it and i needed a truck. So we traded it for a nearly new Toyota truck and life went on. About 9 years ago I wanted to see if I could find it again so I did a search and located it about 2 hours from my house. I made contact with the owner and he said he wasn't interested in selling it but would keep my number. (yea right. I thought) Off and on for the next 9 year I would just drop him a note in the mail without any response back. About 9 months ago I found this GTA on a dealer lot and couldn't resist getting it. Although it wasn't my car it was beautiful and super low miles. This would fill the need to have back my red 91 firebird right? Wouldn't you know it. about 3 months after I bought it the guy called out of the blue and said he was ready to sell me MY car to me. So off we went and I got MY car back. Of course not nearly as nice as this one. It was the actual car that I ordered. So. as my wife so plainly put it. "Honey. you dont need two red 91 firebirds. "So as for this one here it is. reluctantlyRed exterior in well above average conditionGrey Leather interior - no tears or rips. Drivers seat shows leather wear and cracking like all leather eventually does. Power seatPower mirrorsPower windows and locksA/C system that works great! - Recently replaced Compressor (NEW ac delco unit. not a reman. napa unit!)T-tops. that don't leak!!! Either hand wash or power wash. they don't leak!Origional GM floor matsT-top bagDash has NO cracksAutomatic Transmisson with overdrive and works greatall lights and gauges work flawlesslyI cant find anything that doesn't work like it's suppost to. Now lets talk about the engine. It's a 5. 0 tuned port v-8. it doesn't smoke. sputter or miss a beat! Runs smooth and is very powerful. If your waiting for a t-top or 5 speed 5. 7 GTA forget about it. You couldn't get one. 5. 7 GTA wont have t-tops nor will they have a 5 speed. Believe me if you want to lay a patch of rubber this little 5. 0 will do just fine. Think about it the 5. 7 put out 240 hp and the 5. 0 put out 230 hp. in 1991 that was pretty good! Not many were made and this is a 2 year only body style. These are getting harder and harder to find in this kind of condition and good ones don't last long. remember they are only original once! This one as you can see by the pictures still has the original tags on the springs and shocks. I'm not sure it ever saw a winter road nor a rainy road for that matter otherwise most of these would be gone by now. As I stated before the t-tops DON'T leak. which I know is wierd. I owned one brand new off the showroom floor and it leaked that first day I got it home. not this one though. This car starts. runs and drives like new. As a matter of fact I think it drives better that the one I bought new. No squeeks or rattles which these cars are known for. Many times "witness" marks can be found on these cars on the engine cross member. These are caused by over zelus drivers hitting speed bumps or driving through intersections to quickly. this one doesn't have a nick in it! check out the picture! If your looking for a great weekend driver. with potential to be the next collector car this is the one. Keep it clean. covered and drive it sparingly and it will last a long time.
