Description

1966 Pontiac Tempest Wagon project. Very cool car! Just more body work than I can handle. Wanted to make a GTO wagon. Was told it had a 68 400 4bbl, urns out to have a 72 350 with Edlebrock performer intake and Holley 4bbl carb. Has a T5 transmission from a later Camaro, hifts good and clutch is good but first gear is junk. Was told "it grinds a little going into first" but found out it is gone, ust grinds and pops out. Changed fluid and didn't see any metal but made no difference. Car was originally a 326 V8 with a 3 speed manual on the column. Interior needs work, eats are good but door panels and head liner trashed. Rear window not working, iring harness to rear is not hooked up, ust laying on the floor. Frame is solid, loors have some patches and some small holes. Driver front floor pan included (new), ust in the usual wagon areas around the quarter glass, see pics), as rust in the header over the windshield and at the base also. New base panel included, sed header/roof section included, hat is usable but not great. Car was last on the road in 2005, een sitting in a shed "barn" LOL! since then. I brought it homes, ot it running, hanged the fluids, leed the brakes and cleaned up the engine compartment. The more I looked at the bodywork needed the more I realized it is too much for me. I suppose you could do the "Rat Rod" thing and get all the lights and wipers working to pass inspection and just drive it as is? (of course the trans would need to be fixed). I had never seen a Tempest or Lemans Wagon of this vintage and thought it was really cool. Hopefully some one can devote the time and ability I don't have and get it out there again. Make no mistake, espite how it mat appear in the pictures, his is a project. I have many more pics than I can post on the listing. feel free to ask for more pictures.
