1966 Convertible GTO398 V8 AUTOMATIC This car is a survivor kept in storage and maintained over its 39yr old lifespan. This car has a 98% rust free chassis and was pulled out of storage 2 yrs ago with new gas tank and lines installed. It runs very smooth and strong and most every function that this car came with work properly. lights. turn signals. windshield wipers etc. the only issue that I have found so far is the dash clock stopped and radio was removed. The car has the original Rally wheels on more modern T/A radial tires and screams that classic Muscle car profile. It is painted the most beautiful Gloss black with lots of luster ( mirror finish ) with white interior ( no tears. rips or marks ). The white top has been replaced in last few years and looks and fits great and I replaced top motor and both hydraulic arms last month. All the chrome bumpers are original. straight and look great for their age not much to complain about on this car at all for its age other than normal wear and tear and few scratches you would have with any car you used . Driving this Classic Muscle Car is a fun experience It takes off strong with no hesitation or pulling to left or right and shifts through all the gears smooth with one finger steering. She draws lots of attention for its original looks and style. you cannot take her anywhere without thumbs up or comments at red lights ( a real head turner ) This will be an excellent driver or an just good investment for future growth. contact me with any questions etc. Check out Videos of car Below http://youtu. be/55iDirjL81E http://youtu. be/wqx52nyHj9Y http://youtu. be/NO8rr6APm9o. History of the 1966 GTOThe Pontiac GTO is an American automobile built by Pontiac Division of General Motors from 1964 to 1974. The first generation GTO was a muscle car classic of the 1960s and 1970s era. Although there were earlier muscle cars. the Pontiac GTO is considered by some to have started the trend with all four domestic automakers offering a variety of competing models. The GTO became a separate Pontiac model (model number 242) in 1966. instead of being an "option package" on the Tempest LeMans. In addition. Pontiac's intermediate line was restyled. gaining more curvaceous styling with kicked-up rear fender lines for a "Coke-bottle" look. and a slightly "tunneled" backlight. The tail light featured a rare louvered cover. only seen on the GTO. The GTO became a separate model series. rather than an optional performance package. with unique grille and tail lights. available as a pillared sports coupe. a hardtop (without B-pillars). or a convertible.
