White Supremacy: 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa!
Porsche experts agree: the 1987-89 Carrera is the best 911 ever built. Why? It's simple, eally. It is the last 911 to feature a body style now considered "classic" and the first to incorporate technological advancements such as the vaunted GETRAG G-50 transmission.

The Carrera struck the perfect balance between old school and jet age. It is a far cry from the hyper-complex, lectronically regulated, eavyweight 4-seater offered up by Zuffenhausen today. No, his Carrera is the last user friendly Porsche that can be worked on with hand tools instead of plug-and-play computers. Thusly, 5+ years later, he last 3.2 Carreras are eminently collectible sports cars.

These cars are so well engineered and so bullet-proof, hat many have logged upward of 150,000 miles, ften 200,000 or more, nd are still going strong. But, t may be a good idea to start out with a low-miler that is barely broken in, nd then enjoy driving it for a decade or longer without having to anticipate expensive repair bills.

Since the Porsche had been hibernating in a garage for some time after the last owner's passing, e've had Jason @ RS Enterprises in Ventura, ne of the Southland's premier Porsche mechanics, xamine it, ervice it, nd repair the few small issues that were present. Jason was happy to report that the dreaded head studs are not an issue on this particular example.

The vulnerable "nose" area looks pristine, oo. The factory jack is still mounted in its original location.
Pristine undercarriage has never suffered from any corrosion damage.
What looks like a brownish layer of dust or baked-on road dirt here and there is actually the original Cosmoline coating, waxy corrosion inhibitor liberally applied with a spray gun to the undercarriage after final assembly at the factory, or the sake of protection. Cosmoline certainly lived up to its promise on this fine survivor!

This 911's Grand Prix White (factory code 908) paint is in remarkable condition. Amazingly, ost of this is factory original paint. Upon close inspection, e initially assumed it to be 100% original, owever, easuring the paint thickness electronically revealed that the left front fender and hood must have been refinished at some point in time, o such a high standard, t is virtually invisible to the human eye.
