Greetings: This beauty is again available. Previous winner bidder (from Europe) defaulted on communication and payment. Offered once again, with a lower reserve. It deserves a good home!
Desirable black exterior with red interior, ery low mileage--67,966. I'm the fourth owner, urchased in 2007. Sparingly used as a Sunday driver yet always started and warmed-up regularly. This beauty has been garaged all its life, nd it certainly shows. Really is close to perfect! Numbers matching, riginal everything. Fun to drive, conomical, nd handles as if on rails! Drive it anywhere.
All documentation from original owner(s) to date, ncluding original books, arranty, aintenance records, etc.,is included in sale. Sadly selling because I am (still) restoring my '66 E-type Jaguar to 100 point condition and need the space. (Yes, aguar's and Porsche's can co-exist!) Over the years, 've done the following minor maintenance: Replaced 2 tires (Yokohama 205/60 R14), attery, epaired interior blower motor, eplaced thermostat bellow and air control cable, eplaced oil pressure switch, outine oil changes/valve adjustments, eplaced lift supports for the trunk, nd had the exterior professionally buffed.
Included with the carare many new parts, uch as brake pads, ilters, une-up goodies, tc. I also removed the "smog" air pump, hich is fully operational, nd will include. When purchased from 3rd owner (who owns many Porsche's) he stated the following and I concur:
"You will probably not find a nicer 1976 Porsche 912E. Please take a close look at this 31 year old rare car. Only 2079 of these cars were built with only 2051 delivered to the United States. Please see the attached Porsche documents to support these numbers, igned by F.Schulz and I. Wolpert on December 23rd 1977. This is a classic original 912E Porsche with 66981 miles. I'm third owner selling this beautiful Porsche. The 1976 912E is a very unique car that filled the gap between the 914 model and the 924 models. If you Google 912E you will get a lot of specific information about these cars, lso known as the "Poor Man's Porsche" I agree, t gets over 30 miles per gallon!!! I bought this car from the second owner in Chicago with about 59700 miles on it. Since I've owned this car, have done the following work: new exhaust with headers (headers are installed to remove the thermal reactors), lug wires, ap, otor, oil, nd plugs, ew clutch, hrow-out bearing, nd pressure plate, ngine and transmission mounts, new struts, ew brakes, new CV boots, trut brace, EM short shift kit with all new bushings, teering wheel re-stitched, ew steering wheel bearing. I put a 1976 Porsche original sway bar on the rear of the car, he car came without one. I have all the original parts to return to original without a sway bar. The paint is original. It looks like rear engine cover and hood have been re-painted though there is no sign of damage inside or anything. There is no RUST ANYWHERE!! This car has NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT!! The interior is in excellent shape!! I have the original Porsche/CoCo mats. The rugs etc look like they did in 1976 thanks to the mats, his car has not been restored, ut looks it. I have all the tools, ir pump in its original cardboard box and manuals. The engine uses no oil in 2000 or so miles it gets per year and has no leaks. Since I've had the car, t has been serviced with Castrol Syntec 5W-50 yearly. The car has been serviced by a local Porsche mechanic. I have a folder full of records from both previous owners, howing routine maintenance etc."
Terms: $1,000 deposit. Balance due within 7 days by bank wire or cash in person. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. If transport is needed I will help coordinate to insure smooth transition. Thanks for looking and good luck! Bob
