Porsche 911, 1984 Wide Body, Targa "Turbo Look" - Rare

This car was purchased by me 10 years ago from Artesia, alifornia (Brokered out of Seattle). It had 86,533 miles on it. I fell in love with it right away and had it shipped to New Hampshire. I had it listed last week and accepted a deposit on a local sale but the sale did not go through.

I have been a summer resident of New Hampshire since 1999. This car has never been in exposed to snow and salt and is therefore rust free. It has been driven very little since I purchased it due to the fact that I fell off my roof and damaged my back very seriously 5 years ago resulting in a 4 level fusion and long titanium rods. I was always hoping I would get better but now that I am 72 years old, realize getting in and out of this car will continue to be very painful, o I am selling the car I have loved so much.

As most Porsche enthusiasts know, his is an extremely rare model. Its distinguishing feature is that it has the same wide body, rakes, nd suspension as the fabulous, ltra-high cost Turbo Carrera, ut is fitted with the same naturally aspirated air-cooled engine as lesser Carreras. As a consequence it is much less complex and costly to maintain than the Turbo, ut its performance remains impressive. Visually, he only differences between the Turbo and this “Wide Body Look” is that the latter was not fitted with the Turbo insignia on the rear engine lid, nd the huge signature “whale tail” rear spoiler which was standard on the Turbo and optional on the Turbo Look.

These “Turbo Look” Targas are incredibly sought after because of their rarity. It was among the last Porches to be hand built. This model is by far the most desirable and it looks absolutely stunning in White over Tan Leather

There are very tiny blemishes from road use which are hardly visible unless you get down low. Struts holding the front trunk lid and engine lids are needed, re on order, nd should be with the car when picked up. There are a few other minor items which need to be disclosed. When I purchased it 10 years ago, he air conditioner was disconnected but using it in New Hampshire to never need a/c so I never did anything about it. It looks like everything is there, he condenser, he evaporator, nd the compressor. Also the cruise control system was disconnected and again, never saw any reason to do anything about it. I did have the radio replace with a modern Blauplunkt but I still hav e the original. I have never done a research on its history. The VIN # is WPOEB0915ES161533.

The engine and drive train are very strong and responsive, ypical high performance German car. The engine does not burn any oil and does not smoke. The Targa removable top is still in excellent condition. The rubber trim is a little worn. As you can see, he interior still looks great.

This beauty is ready to make its next new owner a very happy person.

The Reserve Price is low relative to other “Turbo Look” Targas because of the few things that need to be done to make it absolutely perfect.

Please do not ask what the Reserve Price is, therwise there is no point in having one.

In checking into this I am not sure it has the same suspension and brakes as the Turbo Carrera.
