VIN 212502 Engine Serial Number P*610080* Engine Case #220 on all 3 pieces
The 912-based engine # is 743215
Odometer reads 19,876 miles.
Most recent body restoration and paint was completed between 10-12 years ago. It is a well-done black repaint. I acquired the car because the body was in very nice shape with no rust anywhere. Mechanically, t was in bad shape. Since acquisition, ll the mechanicals have been replaced and/or restored. The original engine still has break-in oil in it. There is 30 min break in time and about 10 miles on the original engine. Presently installed in the car, he 912 motor has less than 500 miles on it. The odometer reads 19,000 miles. The muffler is the original to the car.
Mechanically, he engines run strong. Case work on the original motor was completed by Competition Engineering. Both the original engine and the 912 were rebuilt with original internals, rank, ods, nd cylinders, achined, ushed rebuilt professionally. All components not replaced or shop-machined were within factory tolerance and specification. Heads have been professionally machined and assembled. The original engine has Zeniths and a CE Super cam and the 912-based motor has Weber carburetors and 912 camshaft. The 912-based motor has a full flow oil system installed. Incidentally, n the original engine the third piece of the case has been machined to allow the full flow filter to be installed easily without disassembly and removal of the muffler. The original engine had the full flow filter installed for break in. All the original engine auxiliary components have been restored and reinstalled. The carburetors on both engines were disassembled, leaned and reassembled with rebuild kits. The engine tin has been powder coated. A proper rebuilt 022 distributor has been installed
The transmission is the original 741 2A, 61338 which has been disassembled, hecked and cleaned, nd reassembled with a new gasket kit and solid OEM type axle seals.
The door and hood and engine lid gaps are very good. All body seals have been replaced. The interior is in excellent shape, t is hard to tell whether the seats have been restored or not, hey are that good. The carpet is aftermarket. The black headliner is the wrong color for originality but in perfect shape. The dash was recovered. The dome lights did not come with the car and are missing, he wires are there for eventual installation. The rubber floor and tunnel matting is new. Dash lighting has been replaced. All the original dash-mounted gauges are all in working order and bright with all the instrument lights replaced with new higher wattage bulbs. Aftermarket oil pressure and voltage gauges have been wired and mounted below the radio delete panel. The original cable powered tachometer has been converted to electric. The car has its original Bosch horns. The clock is not working.
Headlamps have been rewired with additional relays and fuses for direct battery power to the bulbs and they illuminate as in a 12v system. A removable, ED third brake light has high mounted in the rear window for safety. The car passed NY State inspection on March 8.
The windshield and rear window appear as new, he front and rear seals are new.
The brakes are upgraded to factory 356C disc front and rear with the rear bump stop retained as in a B model. A new dual system master cylinder has been installed. All the flexible brake lines have been replaced with original OEM parts.
The wheels are Porsche factory steel, tripped and repainted, ate stamped 8/63 (there is no spare). Tires are new, alanced 165R15. New Bilstein shocks have been installed both front and rear.
I have a 3 ring binder full of receipts.
I have tried to provide a comprehensive portfolio of photos which accurately describe the condition of the car. The trailer shown is not included in the price and is not for sale.
Not including a second engine, he latest “Excellence Magazine” fair market value for an average condition car is $60,000. Given what we see lately being presented by various speculators this example is fairly price at $64,900. Offers considered within that range.
I may be able to provide some delivery assistance depending on any number of factors, ut delivery is ultimately the responsibility of the buyer.
