History:
Purchased by me in April of 2002 with approximately 76,000 original miles on the odometer. The previous owner had the vehicle for just one year, after purchasing from his neighbor, and I have service records for him. I also have the original vehicle ID window sheet and service records from the person he bought it from.I have all service records for the period of my ownership. All service was performed by highly qualified Porsche mechanics using all genuine Porsche parts if available.
Everything in the vehicle is totally original, including the Blaupunkt radio and tape player. The Air Conditioning system was replaced recently with the best available upgrade ($3,000) with all new components, including the optional “desert cooler.” Works beautifully. Blows nice cold air.
Everything in the vehicle functions properly except for the “cruise control” which I believe needs a new control module. I replaced it in 2005 but never really used the system and eventually it failed again and Ididn't bother to replace it. I do not have the key for the internal alarm system, but all the components are in place.
The vehicle starts and runs perfectly. It has had the timing chain tensioner upgrade; all new head bolts, engine inspection, fuel injectors, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing ($5,000), new Fuchs wheel Porsche center badges (metal, not plastic), new “smile” trim on the front bumper, a low mileage set of top quality Michelin tires; and totally regular 3,000 mile oil changes and service. Slightly "stiff"shifting down from 2nd to 1st, but poses no driving problem. Original fog lights, lighter, spare fuses and relays. No money has been spared to have this be as good as it can and with no non-factory modifications.
The vehicle has never been raced or abused. It has always been garaged and never run in winter. Absolutely no rust or corrosion.
All the interior and exterior are totally as built. No accidents or repaints. Original radio/tape player with tape storage and new stock speakers. Normal paint condition for age. One tiny ding in passenger side below rear window. Some usual “orange peel” faults in paint. Power windows and power sliding sunroof fully functional. Optional automatic heat control. Fog lights. Original spare tire, tool kit and 12 volt air compressor. All lights and gauges fully functional. Dash board clean and uncracked. Rearseat backs show wear and need new upright hold straps. All original glass.
This is a deluxe version of the 1983SC coupe. Original price $34,233 plus taxes and license. Has all the options. This is a great driving car. You will not be disappointed.
Sold "as is" and "where is." No returns after inspection and payment as is normal for vehicle sales.Cash or bank to bank wire transfer required.
In an inspection today with my mechanic we noted a small mouse nest in the A/Ccondenser box. In the process some of the insulation around the condensor unit was removed for cleaning. There is some residual odor which needs attention. No other evidence found.
