UPDATE!Questions regarding the cars history and rust have come up a lot. I have verified that this car started life in California, as purchased and brought to Minnesota where it was kept in a garage during the fall/winter months and only driven as a fun car in the summers. The last several years it has only been taken out to maintain operations and has become in need of a detailing and a few smallrepairs. There is no overdrive on this particularvehicle either. I have photos of the bottom from beneath thevehicle and with the floor mats removed indicating that there is some discoloration but almost zero rust.
A 1979 Inca Yellow MGB Convertible Roadster with Manual Transmission.VIN GHN5UL494355G.This is the last year the original company produced this car. I am consigning this car for a colleague. I will have to direct any questions you may have to them. The vehicle works and has a new battery although this car does require some maintenance and fine tuning. The exterior has a few areas of paint loss and the interior requires athorough cleaning. Basically in good condition with some work needed. The following is from the extensive Wikipedia Page on MG's:
1974.5 through 1980

  • Laycock Type LH OD
  • Rectangular shaped access cover
  • Square clutch fork boot
  • Side fill plug (NO dipstick)
  • Blue label on the OD solenoid cover stamped “22/62005”
  • 1000 TPM for OD and non-OD
  • Speedometer drive gear (on the mainshaft) is red
  • Speedometer driven gear (on removable drive housing) is red with 20 teeth
