Description

VIN was not accepted by eBay likely due to the fact the car was manufactured prior to 1981. However, elow is a pic of the builders plate.
Selling a '78 MG MGB Mark IV with a low 42,616 miles. The car has origins in Canada and therefore the odometer and speedometer are in metric. I legally imported the car myself and can provide import paperwork upon request.
This MGB has had an extensive full frame-off restoration about 4,900 miles ago at a cost of about $19,000. I have the original owner's manual as well as receipts and other documents collected over the years. Also have the owner history and aside from 2 dealerships, his car seems to have had 4 prior owner's over its 37 years. Car drives like new. Video at bottom demonstrates the gears shift flawlessly and absolutely everything works (there are 3 video's spliced into one but for some reason there are significant gaps in between the video's. Just advance after each one to catch them all ).
An automotive survey was done last May or 262 miles prior, or insurance purposes and the following information was taken directly from that survey:
Engine Compartment: The engine appears to be the correct and OE 1800cc 4 cylinder in line unit fitted with the OE Zenith carb, tock air cleaner, E manifolds, ccessories etc. The bay is clean and tidy and well detailed. Engine # 18V892AEL002034
Transmission: OE 4 speed, on-overdrive and fitted with the OE floor mounted shifter.
Tires/Wheels: Tires are Uniroyal 165S14's that show no tread wear however they are 26 plus years old. Rims are the stocked stamped steel units painted black and silver. Some light finish wear was noted. Trim shows like new.
Paint: The paint is in the OE red shaded and was professionally redone in 1989. The shine quality is very good and no major chips or deep scratches noted. OE gold stripe kit is installed and shows no wear. Some minor chips were noted on the passenger B post at the top and on the passenger and driver's door by the vent window. Some small chips were noted on the driver's B post and the sill.
Sound system: A Clarion AM/FM/Cassette is mounted in the stock location along with Blaupunkt door speakers.
Convertible Roof/ Vinyl Top: The black vinyl roof shows in as new condition. The rear plastic windows show no wear.
Glass/Weatherstips: The windshield is damage free. The side glass shows in very good conition with only a few small cratches noted. The door weatherstrips and A post strips show no wear. The swipes show no wear. The vent window seals show some minor cracking. The windshield seal shows well.
Chrome / Trim: The mirrors show no wear. The door handles show no wear. The front and rear bump covers show very well. The headlight rings show only light wear. The marker bezels show like new. The side stainless trim shows no wear. The taillight bezels show very well. The luggage rack is aged. The windshield trim shows well. The vent window trim shows some light marks.
Other Options/ Accessories: This vehicle is also equipped with power brakes, ull tonneau cover and boot, uggage rack, nd aftermarket stereo system.
Interior: The interior is tan/saddle vinyl and black. The dash pad is damage free. The instruments are OE and appear damage free. The console trim shows very well. The carpet set shows like new. The door panels show no rips or tears and the trim appears damage free. The seats show no rips or tears and have covers fitted. The OE steering wheel shows no major wear.
Body Panels/Frame/Unit Body: The fenders are solid and rust free. The hood is solid and rust free with good seams. Both doors are solid and rust free with good clean seams. The sill/rockers appear solid and rust free. Both quarters are solid and rust free. The trunk lid is solid and rust free. Overall fit is average with some larger shutlines noted on the trunk lid and passenger door to quarter gap. The visible floor and frame sections show no major rust and are clean and tidy and detailed in black. The jack points appear damage free.
Modifications: No other visible modifications noted
Comments: This is a very nicely restored MG "B" roadster that was treated to a full and complete restoration in the late 1980's and was completed to a high standard at that time. The car has traveled only 8k KM (4900 miles) since and no major wear was noted in any area. Overall a very nice and original example that presents near the top of its class.

On Jun-13-15 at 04:48:38 PDT, eller added the following information:

I have received a few calls about whether or not I would deliver the MG. This is a possibility but I can only decide on a case by case basis. I do have truck and trailer and perhaps could deliver at about a $1.00 per mile (loaded only, he return is on me). I may be able to do less if the trip is greater then 500 miles. But again, lease contact me for more information on this.
