From the professionally rebuilt engine and drive train to its spectacular two tone Ivory cream/Autumn Red paintwork and elegant Biscuit interior, his classic British roadster is exceptional in every way. Further enhanced with Black Walnut dashboard, his example of the immensely popular TD series runs, rives and looks better than it did when new. Whether destined for an automobile museum, rivate collection or display at world-class events, his extremely collectible MG is a true automotive art form and a solid investment for the future.
History, wards and Shows
This 1952 MG TD was in very poor condition when it arrived at Black Horse Garage in late 2007. After completing extensive research into all aspects of the vehicle's original factory specifications, nterior appointments, echanical equipment and exterior finishes, he car was completely disassembled prior to the start of an exacting in-depth "frame off" restoration commissioned by the owner and vintage automobile collector, r. Kjell Kjellberg.
Upon completion of the restoration, he MG debuted at the highly competitive 2009 Munson William Proctor Art Institute Antique and Classic Car Show held in Utica New York. Although the car appeared on the show field in the presence of automobiles that included spectacular Packards, adillacs, olls Royces and Auburn boat tail speedsters among many others, he large group of highly experienced and respected collector car experts charged with judging responsibilities awarded the little MG TD "Best in Show" honors!
Exhibited again at the 2009 Lime Rock Park Concours d' Elegance which took place as part of Lime Rock Park's Fall Vintage Festival on Labor Day weekend, he MG TD was displayed on the famous 1.53 mile road racing circuit in the company of more than 720 other collector automobiles. With the grueling competition prompting each group of expert judges to carefully re-examine the top candidates in each class for the purpose of assessing the fine points that would distinguish one pristine automobile over another, he MG TD was found to be without peer and garnered a "Best in Class" award.
