Up for auction is my 1969 Saab 96 Deluxe. I purchased it from a gentleman who owned it the last five years. He drove it occasionally and always kept it in a heated garage. This car is extremely original and unmolested. The interior has all original upholstery. carpets. dash. nbsp;instruments. and headliner and they are all in very good shape. Door panels are excellent. The top of the dash has a couple of cracks and the driver's seat has a seam starting to come unstiched. That's about it. The photos show the story. It starts very easily and settles into a nice idle. It steers. tracks. rides. and stops as it should. The clutch has new hydraulics and the the disc has minor chatter. It should be adjusted. Mechanically the car is very good. The exhaust is solid but the head pipe is aftermarket. There are a couple of drips under the car. It drives remarkably well. Very quiet and rattle free. It has a nice ride and I can see why there is a strong following for these cars. It has a period correct Volvo am radio that is not connected. The rear shelf has been replaced with bare plywood. The tachometer. speedometer. headlights. tail lights. turn signals. flashers. instrument lights. wipers. heater blower. and cigarette lighter all work. The gas gauge works intermittently. A good portion of the car appears to be original paint. And the engine compartment is all original. And complete. There is some rust on the underside that I have included in the photos. Were I to keep this car and take it to the next level. I would start with some rust repair. A few of the passenger door trim clips have broken off and the trim is loose. A previous owner has put some bondo on a couple of areas of surface rust. Tires. chrome. and glass are all excellent. It is obvious that this car has spent a lot of time indoors. This car comes with a full tank of gas. a clear title. and two sets of keys. I am starting with a very reasonable opening price and have no reserve for the auction.
