On Aug-09-16 at 19:00:15 PDT, seller added the following information:Several bidders have asked, so I will post the Marti Report and the original 1967 Shelby Invoice. Since I cannot post additional photos, please see my listing for the AMT "Sound of The Cobra". Please also check out some Shelby Cobra and Ford GT40 book titles I will be listing.
On Aug-11-16 at 16:53:00 PDT, seller added the following information:NOTE TO ALL CURRENT BIDDERS, and FUTURE BIDDERS:
Though the magic of the internet, I was contacted by the owner of 1967 Shelby #1356, and 23 years after I acquired it, and nearly 40 years after it was pulled from his car - - the two will be reunited. His car is right now undergoing a complete restoration at a well known shop in the Northeast, and I want to thank Dave Matthews at SAAC for getting us together. It is my understanding, that this gentleman has a date and castsing correct engine that he will make available to the winner of my auction. He had been acquiring parts to assemble a correct 1967 K code for many years, and now will not need it due to finding his original. I will continue to offer the HEX-BX close ratio Toploader to my auction winner at a reasonable price, and will provide contact info so they may reach out to #1356's owner about his now available engine. However, if any current bidder want to rescind their bid based on me no longer having an engine to offer - please do so in the next 24 hours.
This is a wonderful outcome, and I hope the bidders understand.
Photos of the boxed items from car's interior have been added to a listing of "The Ford Century". The full interior is present (less carpet). The Comfort Weave rear seat may be good enough to reuse, but all other soft trim will need replacement, hard plastic seat backs are present, and stainless trim for seats and door panels. Rare trunk mat is in Very poor condition. INBOARD Headlight buckets and center (but not lower) Grille are there. Cobra front seat belts are there. Very good defroster ducting. Big tin of engine bolts from the swap. Tomorrow I will get the items from the attic (MagStars a 1967 passenger door) and post photos.
