General:This listing is for a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX. The car has just under 112,000 miles on it and has seen mostly highway miles. It was purchased used with 30,000 miles and has not changed owners since. It has been in two minor accidents only requiring paint and some body work. Why am I selling this car? Regrettably, I really love this car summer and winter but, life has presented the need for a larger car which can tow a boat. This car probably won’t pull a boat.
Condition:This cars condition is excellent! It has been taken good care of. The exterior paint is waxed every three months and the interior professionally detailed once per year. Between details, the interior remains clean. No food, drink or smoke has been allowed in this car. The service schedule has either met or exceeded the requirements. For example, the oil has been changed every 3,000 miles instead of 5,000. Nothing has ever gone fatally wrong with the car (no blown engines, transmissions, etc).
Part Upgrades (Interior and Exterior):There are a few upgrades added to this car to enhance the time spent in it. Inside, the stereo has had a full overhaul. The factory stereo was replaced with a fast, responsive Pioneer touch screen. This features Bluetooth, HD radio, DVD playback, and the ability to add navigation. The four door speakers were replaced with Infinity speakers. These have a dedicated Rockford Fosgate amplifier to power them. The trunk houses two 10 inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofers with a separate R.F. amplifier. In the front, there is a Punch Level Control module to control the amount of bass. There are also three racing style throw switches mounted in the front. The first switch is hooked up to very dim, ambient, red footwell lighting. These lights are not bright and distracting, but are there to complement the red instrument cluster. The other two switches have not been hooked up to anything. Finally, the back seats have WeatherTech floor liners.
The exterior of the car has an STi style rear wing mounted and color matched. It also has Rally Armor mud flaps and lighter Moda wheels. There is also a subtle stripe from the front fenders to the back doors. Inside the front grill are mounted a pair of HELLA Sharptones. These are essentially a much louder horn. They also look pretty sweet.
Performance Upgrades:Currently, this car is tuned and running 307 horsepower and 280-foot pounds of torque with a max boost of 20psi. This means that it gets up to 60mph in about 4.5 seconds. Since this was not a track car and needs to be reliable, all upgrades were of the highest quality to ensure reliability. The engine has a Cobb cold air intake with the factory snorkel. It also has a turbo back exhaust (mostly). The downpipe is from Cobb, but the mid pipe is still stock. The Y pipe (the part after mid pipe which leads to mufflers has been custom fabricated. The two mufflers were switched out for Magnaflows with additional stainless steel tips. Finally, the turbo was upgraded directly from Subaru (new) to a VF52 with a Cobb heatshield. All these upgrades were tuned using the cobb access port on a dyno. In addition, the stock clutch was upgraded to a Competition Clutch Stage 2 Steelback Brass Plus Clutch Kit w/ Lightweight Flywheel. The brakes have been changed to feature slotted rotors and HAWK performance pads. Finally, the tires are probably the best money can buy. They are Pirelli dedicated summer run-flat tires. They have about 4,000 miles on them.
Problems:Mechanically speaking, this car has no problems. It has had its 100,000-mile service plus the water pump done. With a new clutch (last 5000 miles) and turbo (last 10,000 miles), this car is set to run for a long time. The interior too has little defects even considering normal use. The exterior paint has kept its shine (due to the waxing). However, the front bumper and hood may need some attention. The hood is the worst part of the car. There are some rock chips on the front, and the scoop insert is fading. Before realizing I needed a truck, I was going to repaint the hood this spring. The front bumper has some paint cracks which are not visible from 10 feet away. Upon closer inspection, you can see the paint fracture lines. There is also a small scrape on the underside of the front bumper corner which is hard to notice. Finally, the battery might need to be replaced within the next 30,000 miles just because it has been in there for a while now.
