Bought new truck, ime for toy to go. Owned for 15 years. Looks good drives good, x4, anual 5 speed. Converted to a ranch jeep style, wo-seater, ith enclosed back area. Excellent condition for year and miles. Reconditioned last few years:$700 water pump, iming belt, alve cover gasket, lutch safety switch; $1000 clutch kit and flywheel; $250 tune-up, ires, ap, lugs, ilters; $250 starter; $650 new upholstery both seats and door panels; $690 general inspection and maintenance including lower oil pan and gasket, ll belts, uel filter; $300 windshield; $230 front brakes; $200 door handle drivers side and ignition switch, $135 new bikini top and windjammer, 100 new battery, 1680 upsized tires and rims; $220 4" lift kit; $500 new front bumper and four endbumper tips; $1600 rebuilt transmission.Over $8200 in reconditioning costs in vehicle, riginal cost was $1500, otal investment $10,000. Mechanic considers engine in excellent condition. Leaks at front and rear seals, sing Lucas oil treatment.Do not plan to drop engine until the 100,000 mile mark to replace seals at same time as doing an engine rebuild in the future,not cost effective to drop engine just to replace front and real seals. Known issues, 1) doesn't always start on first turn of the key, ay take several turns of the key (local mechanic hasn't figured it out), 2) engine seal leaks discussed above not an issue, ust keep check on oil level monthly., 3) rebuilt carblow idle rpm can stall sometimes, hink dirt in carb(?),I am not a mechanic,,,but if your mechanic can't idle it up a remanufactured carb on ebay is $300,,,,My loss your gain,,,great around town and ranch vehicle.
