1987 Suzuki Samurai 4x4 with VW 1.9 Turbo Diesel Engine Conversion

For sale is a 1987 Suzuki Samurai with lots of upgrades to include a VW 1. 9 Turbo Diesel. This vehicle is running and ready for your next adventure. It has been sitting for a few months but was recently upgraded for a new battery. air bled out of the fuel and test drove. General Description: This is a ~30 year old vehicle in running condition. Lots of custom upgrades. some done very well and some not so well. The tires have lots of tread but are old. Engine runs strong but is custom and may need a few more minor tweaks to make it perfect though nothing currently is known that is an issue with it other than what is listed in this ad. Engine: - 1. 9 Liter 4cyl VW Turbo Diesel. This is the AAZ not the TDI engine. This was a german car take out with ~70k miles and we put another ~5k miles on it in the Samurai. This swap was an act of love. after first installing a 1. 6 NA (non-turbo) VW Diesel and finding it lacking for power. - ACME adapters kit. This kit was purchased to bolt the engine into the Samurai. No expense was spared on the conversion. this has tons of options: Green Diesel gas Cap. GM Alternator bracket (and high amp GM alternator). Glow plug relay and harness. angled oil filter housing. fuel filter kit. header pipe with flex coupler. custom exhaust. 26” VW radiator kit with temp sensor and dual electric fans. http://www. acmeadapters. com/store_engine. php. - Runs fine. its dirty. it took a while to get it dialed in right and every now and then air gets into the fuel line and needs to be bled out. I think I have that air in fuel fixed and it drives great right now. just full disclosure that this was a big project and minor stuff might pop up. - New high cca battery Feb 2015- Runs. drives. shifts. - Never Requires Smog Check! Registered with DMV as a 1987 Diesel. so its smog check exempt for California!- Rebuilt factory 5 speed transmission. approx. 15k miles on it and HD Petroworks clutch. Suspension: - Spring over suspension. Stock springs moved over the axle- Front shock mounts = Ford F350- Rancho shocks- Rear Petrowork upper shock mounts- Revolver front shackles- Dropped pitman arm Armor - Custom front bumper with tow shackles. two offroad lights (not hooked up). brushguard. 2” trailer receiver and tabs for tow bar. Includes tow bar. Buy it and tow it home! Note: there is no electrical hookup for towing this as a trailer. I use to tow it behind my truck and I just turned the running lights on in the Zuki. - Customer Rear bumper with LED lights. 2” trailer receiver and swing away tire carrier. Not the prettiest bumper but it works. - Skidplate. It’s the anodized yellow one. I think it was from Petroworks. - Side rock sliders. Petroworks I think. not sure. - Pumpkin differential guards: the weld on type. Misc: - Upgraded headlights. These are glass with removable halogen rear lights instead of the factory sealed beam. - Upgraded door and interior rear panels. The stock are fabric over cardboard. these are from Petroworks and are the marine grade plastic. - Upgraded door handles. interior and exterior. Note: the driver side door is hard to open and only opens from the outside. You have to roll down the window and open from outside. - Seats: custom seats out of a Toyota. Rear seat is stock with seatbelts. Note: Rear seat has 1 bolt missing on its mount. - Rock shifter- Radio: custom remote amplifier with 3. 5mm aux that you plug into your music device (MP3 player. phone. etc) and a switch to turn the amplifier on or off. This is wired to 4 speakers. Stealth (nothing to see and steal) but loud. - Tires: good tread but old. like 10 years or so. Spare is newer and unused. like 3 years old. Includes jack and lug wrench. manual and engine belts. - Snorkel: for raised intake- Soft bikini top for the front and hard white plastic top for the back. no other tops nor any bows for rear soft top. Only includes front bikini and rear hard tops. Locking console with key and cupholders between front seats. Title: - Clean California Title in my name. The title is “duplicate” as its been in the family since 1989 and original was lost during the move. Same as original. just disclosing what it says. No issues. - Clean California Registration.
