1997 Toyota Supra Turbo 6-speed manual, 68k miles, xcellent condition
Toyota Renaissance Red, an interior, arga top, tock rear wing
This was my daily driver / only car for the past 15 years. I had no plans to sell it, ut work sent me to London for one year and now the move has changed to permanent.
Very lightly modded: basic BPU with exhaust, ulled wastegate hose and BCC. Other mods are fiberglass TRD-style hood, oyota euro glass headlights, RD front strut bar, nd Do-Luck rear cross bar.
The exhaust is the Tanabe G-Power Medallion, hich is known as the quietest aftermarket exhaust for the Supra. The Do-Luck rear cross bar makes the car much, uch more stable with the targa off.
Otherwise fully stock, ncluding stock intake. The front bumper is not drilled for a front plate for those of you who prefer the cleaner look. The engine still pulls as hard as ever, nd both turbos are fully functional (no #1 death whine).
I’ll also include a few accessories I have, ncluding a rear strut bar that I never installed, Supra-specific high-quality lightweight car cover from California Car Covers, bra (never used), epair manuals, ome stock parts, tc.
The car is now 19 years old with 168k miles, o as expected there are a few minor issues. I had planned to fix them when I returned from London, ut now that I’m not moving back, won’t be able to before selling. In the spirit of full disclosure, hese are the five things that I’m aware of:
1. Some black smoke comes out of the exhaust during a cold start. This happens to almost every single MKIV Supra and can be fixed by replacing the valve stem seals, ut is certainly not necessary.
2. Likewise, s happens on many Supras, he targa top has a slow leak on the driver’s side during heavy rain. This should be fixable by changing the targa-related rubber seals.
3. There is an issue with one of the interior lights which pulls too much current and will drain the battery, o I’ve pulled the fuse for the interior lights. It may be just a matter of replacing a bulb.
4. The parking brake sensor needs adjusting so that the alert light on the dash goes out when the brake is fully disengaged.
5. And finally, here is a very slow coolant leak (~1 quart of distilled water / Toyota red coolant per month) from the radiator or one of the radiator hoses. I have a set of new ’98 radiator hoses that I had intended to put on to try to stop the leak.
There are also a few small scratches in the paint, ostly in the front bumper due to bad parallel parkers, ut it’s really very good for a car of its age (see photos). The only place the paint is not so good is on the driver’s side mirror (clear coat is peeling), o I’d recommend replacing it or getting it repainted.
PAYMENT: If you're local, ashier's check. If you're remote and want it shipped by truck, ou'll need to pay for the shipping and I'll wait until the ACH / wire transfer fully clears before shipping. I'm happy to share verifiable personal info and references for serious buyers interested in shipping.
