Description

1973 was the last to have the heavy steel design, so many collectors regard them as the most desirable.
Overall-
Completely rewired, Bestop soft top, Honda Accord bucket seat conversion, new lap and shoulder belts, roll bar, lift kit, heavy-duty springs, frame trailer hitch with full trailer wiring jack, 33" all-terrain tires with good tread, chrome (a little rusty) rims, custom gauges, ah-oo-gah horn, re-ducted defroster vents, rebuilt washer pump, rebuilt emergency brake, new brakes, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. Speedo is currently disconnected and shows 88,000 miles, but that is definitely low for a vehicle of this age.
Engine and Drivetrain-
350 Chevrolet V-8 fully built with 9.5:1 pistons, torque cam, polished Weiand intake manifold, 4-wheel any-angle high-performance carburetor, K&N air filter, Moroso cast aluminum valve covers, racing fuel pump, oversize valves, 140-amp alternator, new battery, BeCool aluminum racing radiator with custom shroud, electric fan conversion, rebuilt starter, 4-speed GM Muncie transmission with granny low, rebuilt transfer case.
What's Left to Do-
Drive it as-is, or build it up to be a full restoration. Needs the usual incidentals, light rust remediation and paint. If you plan on driving over 60, you may want to tighten up the front end.
$2000 in Spare Parts-
A collection of FJ-40 parts including two sets of hard-top sides, hard doors, a hard-top gel-coat roof (damaged,) radiator, stock alternator, extra electric fan, original front (good) and rear (poor) seats, nice extra bikini top and much more. A box of small block Chevy parts including a new clutch and pressure plate assembly.
